I have some serious sound problems. Sometimes it stutters so much that I can not make out what is being said. I run the game on High and my rig is more than able to handle the game even on ultra. No other game has this problem.

a) What game?
b) If it's Witcher 3, post here:

EDIT:
And to make this post more interesting here is a stuttering joke:

A man visits the doctor because of his severe stuttering problem.

The doctor checks him and says says, "Wow! You've got the largest penis ever seen. But it appears that your penis is four inches too long and is pulling on your vocal cords, thereby causing the stutter."

"D-d-d-oct-t-tor. Wh-ha-a-at c-c-can I d-d-do?"

The doctor tells him that he must remove the extra four inches to relieve the strain.

Six months after the operation, the patient returns for his check-up. "Doctor, the operation was a success. I no longer stutter. However, my sex life is in ruins. My wife says that she misses the great sex we used to have. I was wondering if it is possible to reattach those four inches."

The doctor hesitates for a minute and then says, "I d-d-d-on't th-th-think-k-k-k that wo-wo-wo-ould b-be p-p-pos-s-s-ib-b-ble."

Ah so, moral of the story. Stay away from doctors:)
I'd check power settings to make sure it's on balanced and not power saving or something. Also probably use Task Manager to forcibly lower the priority of any and all programs that don't need immediate control.

If you're capturing video AND the game uses 2 cores or less (and you have more than 2 cores) you can forcibly set the capture program as one set of cores while the game runes the other set.

Check your memory and virtual memory settings. Virtual Memory can run very slowly. I have 16Gig and turned my VM off for simplicity.

Selectively turn off certain features that are known to be a drain. Anti-Aliasing being one of the top ones, after that probably bloom or other special features.

Check your video card... If it's a newer card that takes full advantage of the hardware acceleration, then great, if not you may have to change settings to make it work. (Newer cards support DX12, while earlier ones are 11 or earlier, and those features may just be slugging the system down)

Some games/programs have a manual configuration for an audio buffer, if it's the case you might increase the buffer and the time it's delayed a little in order to give it prevent this.

For the record let me define sound stuttering because I'm sure there's some super technical term somewhere that describes the problem better because there always is:

For me sound stutter is when a game's audio makes constant, periodic stops for no reason. Imagine listening to a cutscene and the audio cuts out once every other 3rd second.

Okay lately I have been having sound stuttering problems on GOG games. First was Necromunda: Hired Gun and now Destroy All Humans.

It has to be something related to the launcher. I repeat: I reinstalled Necromunda and the glitch remained and now it effects Destroy All Humans.

Too many variables and unknowns, cannot reproduce on testing system.

Well, if it appears to be related to the launcher, why not run the executable individual to see if the problem persists?
Are you using a client?

Good way to find alts, IMO. Seems to be a common tactic, but i noticed OP hasn't responded. I wonder if OP goofed and posted under an alt instead of real account. Or we could just be witch hunting like we always do on this board.
