tfishell: Besides DRM-free, GOG barely eke out a profit, so I wonder if Sony - given their billions - would consider the juice not worth the squeeze.
In any case, yet another good reason to have one's installers backed up, just in case.
If they really want to focus on the PC (which I don't believe, their word is not worth more than Microsoft's) and if Sony would not go the 'DRM on everything' route on the PC, then buying CDPR/GOG might not be a bad idea after all for them. They would have a already working distribution network and if they keep the shop as it is also a broad pallette of games from the start. What GOG misses mostly, is manpower. They have by far not enough people to sustain everything they are doing.
But honestly I don't think that Sony will do it. They will more likely come up with their own distribution platform.
