ZyloxDragon: You can download the mods without DRM just like the other Bethesda titles here. Or do you mean something similar to how Steam Workshop is implemented?
rjbuffchix: I was under the belief that some (not all) mods are tied down to having a Bethesda account. I worded my post poorly, but what I wanted to get across is that I want the game to be here in some form without that extra step. For example, "Oldrim," as people call it, would be quite welcome.
Not sure I understand either. Most mods are publicly available on nexus, moddb etc. Those mods which are tied to steam workshop are tied there because the creator wants them to be. Gog would need to approach each modder and ask them to release the files publicly. Or do you expect a workshop equivalent in galaxy, if so then that’s just as bad as drm, some of us refuse to use galaxy, and that would just mean content locked behind a client.
So the issue really is modders using a drm platform to distribute rather than a public space, so not going to change.
Just adding, a quick search seems to indicate that special edition uses creators club (Bethesda own mod shop), so even worse. Just shows how bad these different proprietary things are and should not be supported by anyone interested in drm free (not that it really matters any more).
