matterbandit: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation aired on tv tonight and I remembered it being mentioned a couple of times in this forum, so I decided to watch it. LOVED IT!! I can't believe I've never seen this 80's gem starring Chevy Chase! Sense of humour was unapologetic and right up my alley. Aunt Bethany's unexpected recital of the pledge of allegiance had me in stitches! The movie's a charming caricature of the holidays, with an awkward cast of wacky in-laws, a rampant squirrel and everything in between. It has a strong chance of becoming my favorite Christmas movie too. :P Great discovery this was! :)
Santa likes that even the older christmas movies are till being discovered and enjoyed to this day. National Lampoon's Christmas vacation is a funny and lighthearted story, indeed.
What Santa left in your stocking is another tale, entirely.

Not Christmas related, but, erm, you better see it :P

Here's another one. I was very surprised that it's not from Robot Chicken. o_O

Thanks for the unexpected stocking surprise, skimmie & PaterAlf! I guess it's never too late to discover new things even if they are in fact old things, but timeless old things. :)

Tonight it was Scrooged with Bill Murray that aired on TV. I had already seen it long, long ago. In my mind, I remembered it as a funny movie, but when I watched it tonight, I caught myself crying quite often. LOL! Funny as it was, I forgot what a tear-jerker this movie really was. Either that or I was feeling particularly sensitive tonight. :P

Genocide2099: Not really a favorite but I seem to remember a Star Wars movie that was somewhat Christmasy in feel. It has ewoks and I vaguely remember a stone necklace that points in the direction of something important. Maybe I'm just mixing things up. I couldn't remember any major details in the movie but I do remember watching it during Christmas with my family. It was basically movie night with my cousins and other relatives.

PaterAlf: Maybe the Star Wars Holiday Special?

It was partly made out of material that wasn't used for the original movie mixed with cartoon segments and strange musical numbers. It's pretty bad. But because of it it became kind of a cult movie. It also introduced Boba Fett (as a cartoon character).
There were no animated segments in that movie and I'm pretty sure it has a serious yet campy tone to it. I know it has ewoks in it but couldn't really remember the plot. Maybe I'm just having false memories. lol. Time to search for that movie. If it exists...

Now I definitely should start watching Robot Chicken. :)

There are two other Ewok movies - Caravan of Courage and Battle for Endor. But I'm pretty sure the one you're looking for is Holiday Special
One thing I love about the Christmas season is that my birthday is one week before Christmas as well!!

Do you get both Christmas and Birthday presents at the same time?

Aha! It was Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure. I read the summary and it mentioned an arrowhead that points to the fortress entrance. That was the scene I remembered the most. I'm not going crazy after all. Might watch the movie to confirm it. lol
I'd like to be in, if possible. If not, here's something either way:

Christmas was my mother's favorite time of the year. After she passed away in January this year (unrelated to the pandemic, thankfully, but no less heartbreaking), I knew things were going to be rough when this time rolled in.

Beyond her baking all kinds of cookies and the occasional cake during this time, she loved those Lifetime and Hallmark cable channel Christmas movies. So much so that she tended to watch them almost constantly. It's surreal knowing that I don't get the sensation of smelling something baking and hearing any number of Christmas tunes coming from her television this year. It became so commonplace to me that I didn't really see it as a tradition of sorts until noticing that it's gone. While I'd give anything in the world to have her back, I know that I can at least find any Christmas special and think back on how happy she was during this time of year (I'm not really much of a baker and I don't think most people would like a rando breaking in just to take in the smells of their home during this time of year - nor would law enforcement, I'm sure).

I watched "Ben is Back" recently. Pretty good movie, although the Christmas period it's set in isn't really the point. :P

MoorOakheart: If I am eligible, I am in.

As for TV specials, hmm, does cartoon counts? If yes, then yes! I have it then! I usually like to watch the Christmas special for cartoon like Adventure Time, Phineas and Ferb, SpongeBob SquarePants, and many more.
When it comes to cartoons, you should definitely watch Bob's Burgers. It's one of my favourite cartoon shows and almost all the Christmas episodes are awesome.

And of course you are eligible. Santa left something in your stocking.
