This place is truly dominated by point and clickers... huh ?
To me it makes sense that GOG would get more sales as a proportion of total sales across digital distributors if the game gets a simultaneous release.

30k/year is so god damn good for Indonesian.

Wait, a handheld console still can match Steam sale? That's surprising data. Probably the game is suitable for casuals on console.

Handhelds are not (exclusively) an item for "casual" players. And this game is too difficult for the "casual" player.

I can play the 66% card for the consoles too :), but yeah steam has a decent size following for consoles games, while it's impossible for sony or microsoft to sell a million copies of crusader 2 or european universalis 4.

It just needs a good discount and several promos. 75% discount will increase the number of sold copies significantly.

Was Shovel Knight early access then? I seem to recall hearing a lot about it before it showed up here.

"Note, for a $24.99 copy of the retail game, we receive a 3-4 dollars less than our digital release, which sells for $14.99. Also, we still haven’t actually been paid for retail product due to the long tail of not knowing if all the units will sell."
And yet most publishers keep the price of retail and digital the same.
Long gone are the promises of lower prices thanks to cheaper distribution when digital distribution was starting.
"On some storefronts and systems, you might not even know Plague of Shadows exists! There are plenty of hooks out there to promote sales, DLC, and re-releases…but it can be unexpectedly challenging to promote free updates to a base game."
I noticed this. When paid DLC is released it is often featured on store frontpage but free update often gets only some small mention in changelog or on game page. Sure, this one got here on GOG quite an exposure with news article but I don't think ie. Steam did the same thing (I may be mistakenm, though). On the other hand when it is smaller update, it is barely noticeable. This week Freedom Planet got free update with new playable character(s). It was part of the patch so it was only mentioned in changelog for those who have the game already and only in lower part of it.
If it was paid DLC selling that character(s), for at least a buck, it would maybe feature on store frontpage and got more exposure which I find a bit unfair.
