Since we already have Flashback, some Microids games and another of Cuisset's games on GOG I suppose it's likely that the sequel will land here if it gets finished.

I wouldn't mind Fade to Black on GOG as well.

I wonder whether it'll reuse any ideas from Flashback Legends, the cancelled GBA game (a ROM of the unfinished game is floating around online).
Nice, I wonder if they're going to make the sequel a cinematic platformer again or if they're going for something new like they did with Fade to Black.

EA published Fade to Black, back in the day.
Do they hold the distribution rights and/or publishing rights to that one?

B/c if they still do...well, we know, that could be a problem and all.
I can safely say, I cannot care.

It's a complete failure to see level with cinematic platformers like this. I wish the project the best, but I don't get how anyone has any fond memories of these.
Flashback and with the original creator behind the project and edited for Microids, sure we ´ll see on gog, instant buy!
They need to remaster Heart of the Alien and release it for PC.

DoomSooth: They need to remaster Heart of the Alien and release it for PC.
Why remaster? Does the original version have issues on modern hardware?
I don't know because I never played it... It's one of those games which (when it launched) I really, really wanted to play. But unfortunately I never managed to grab a copy. And even during the "Abandonware" fever of the early 00s it was one of those games which was hard to find on the web.

I'd love to see that happen.

Looks like it was only on Sega CD - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_of_the_Alien

So, yeah - we'd probably need a port in the first place for the old version; and/or need a remaster.

Thanks. Now I see why I could never find it anywhere. I don't even remember seeing it on the consoles section back in the day.

I only ever saw it once in a bin at Electronics Boutique and it was overpriced. Also, I didn't own a Sega CD. This was 27 years ago. Had I known emulation was going to take off, I'd have bought it.

I really don't know where I got the idea that it had also been converted to the PC. Or maybe I was mistaking it for Heart of Darkness, I don't know

There's also the thing that Eric Chahi (creator of Out of this World/Another World) - who approved of the game b/c Interplay insisted on a sequel, BTW - later did disown the game b/c it flopped sales-wise.

It probably never had a chance, since Sega CD was not cheap, back in the day.

So, he might not even care about securing the rights to this (if he doesn't own the rights to it now) or might not even care about this studio-sequel game b/c he disowned it and he did not develop it.

Yeah, you possibly did mistaken it...as Heart of Darkness is a Eric Chahi game.

Granted, Eric did not develop Heart of the Alien - but that is a studio-sequel that Interplay wanted to capitalize off Eric's Out of this World/Another World game.

Both games do have Heart in the title - so yeah, I can see how it can get confusing. Plus, both of those games aren't recent titles.

Meh, I might have cared 5 years ago, I don't really enjoy platformers anymore.
