I can appreciate your feelings, however historically nothing changes unless sanctions and boycotts have teeth. If there are fewer people gaming in Russia, perhaps more of them will be moved to work against the current government and change it. South Africa didn't end apartheid until the world forced their hand.

So say it's 1939 and Hitler is invading Poland, would you then say "We shouldn't punish the German people for the actions of their government". Come on dude, that is a cowardly position to take. A nation is being invaded unprovoked, it's cities are being burned and tanks are rolling down it's roads, to take a neutral stand when outright evil is taking place is pure cowardice. Russia might be a dictatorship but it's not disconnected from it's own people, and Putin has quite a large amount of popular support. Maybe Russians need to have a look at their own decisions and why they just continue to fall back on Czar type figures who lead them to ruin. Acting like Russian people are innocent in this is extremely naive.

It hurts and is not tactful to say it but, It is THEIR war as it is THEIR country the aggresor:
-Where is social responsibility for everyone's own nations then?
-Was your government elected by magic? Royal lineage? Divine choosen ones you must pay blind faith? They were elected and are supported by their own people!{*1}
-When -YOUR- government screw it up all the way: What do you & your people do? Implicitly support them by omission keeping silence and following their orders? Protest? Pray? Ignore? Denial (aka Swallow their invented alternative realities were everything is fine & smooth{*2})?... Again, social responsibility for everyone's own nations.


Now, An adjacent and very relevant topic: Are the WHOLE Russian population enemies? ABSOLUTELY NO!
I do not pay attention to the "From" tag (I do not care), I speak my feeling/opinion in general: I say people here is kind, nice, and very generous{*3}: It is very difficult to find in real life (even the internet itself) people donating to strangers without any hidden interests but just for the sake to share; I do not find a better example demonstrating how great --all this people is--!!


I suggest, let's GOG do what they consider it is their best interest(*4) to their business and let's we focus on stay together and help the way we can do: Support civilians in trouble (despite their nationality!):
-A member cannot buy a game? Let's do it ourselves and send the gift code.
-And so on...

I consider the most challenging task we have, as people outside the war zone, it is to keep calm, use a scalpel instead of an axe to decide our actions and respect the others instead of attack.
If our stupid governments cannot solve problems by communication, we must!

As a Russian and a big fan of games I'm very angry of this new game politic. But I'm here to make things clear. In Russia we don't choose president. His followers make only illusion of the ellections for western countries, but for real we didn't choose current president. We don't want war and we don't need war with our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. So every company, that makes such poor decisions like CDPR leaves me heartbroken cause we, simple people, simple gamers, don't deservev all this.

They are not treating everyone equally, they specifically did to one country and and one race, that is really bad, is separating a community and bring war to the forum. I care for Ukranian users too, I'm not in favor of this war or any war, but this is a gaming forum, not a politics one, I care for the users we are losing, being discriminated, this should nor be a place for war and politics where everyone can talk and be friends not caring about their country, religion, sexuality, politics, etc.
The forum should be a place to interact, share, discuss about games, not point with the finger to other. What GOG is doing is against it's own rules and just splitting the community, putting some users against other as if they are the ones to blame for what is happening, civilians are innocents and they are struggling for this war too.

they reported the war in Europe and the risk of a new world and nuclear war is now a concrete eventuality (until a month ago the third world war seemed like a frenzy of some crazy people).
I wanted to live my life quietly in peace, perhaps even stopping working before actually retiring ... the risk is that in a few months / years I will be sent to die in a destructive war or that a nuclear bomb will hit where I live or not so far away destroying everything I have built.
Right now I don't see the Ukraine invasion as "only invaded Ukraine"... not just that, I don't think this war is limited to Ukraine at all... there was no reason to invade a free country... there was no reason to start a war after they already got Crimea and Donbass. putin want to start a WW3, it will not stop in Ukraine.

It's a low blow to punish citizens for actions which are beyond their control.
