The news about free GTA V on Epic has been published on the largest Polish gaming news portal. It claims that they have a very credible source that they can't reveal. ----> https://gg.deals/freebie/rumour-free-gta-v-on-epic-games-store-tomorrow/

Yeah, no.
Unfortunately I assume this version will be loaded to the hilt with Rockstar DRM though. As we know already, games on EFS (Epic Fail Store) are not necessarily DRM-free and client-free. Didn't a big publisher (Ubi??) give away or sell a game there, only for people to learn it had the publisher's own DRM system? Wake me up when GTA series (even the old ones) come here to GOG in DRM-free form :)
Nice, I just got a steam copy of GTA 4 a few weeks back.
I can see it happening. Rockstar could make a lot of money from microtransactions in the online component if enough people grab it.

They'll make more money if the give us the VI
Assuming it turns out to be true, I guess it will answer itself on whether it requires a client to run or not.
5 is good. But not as good as San Andreas.

I 'd rather pay for a GOG release of GTA1/2/Trilogy!

Hell, after gtaIV things started getting sour in that series...
You think Rockstar would give up their Social Club for one minute and toss out not only the 60 or so dollars for GTA V, but also have to run though the mill of another publisher?

I know good ole Tim is desperate, but Rockstar ain't.

Considering how popular GTAV still is, they are in no hurry with VI. Obviously, they are currently working on it, but they are in no hurt pushing out anything yet.

I would prick your finger on a spindle then, cos they ain’t a coming here!
R* want nothing to do with anything that doesn’t hardcode your system into the social club.
Maybe one day the original two games, but not the rest. Just get the disc versions.
It's hard to imagine anyone interested in GTA5 not owning it yet, so not sure I'd pay them for that (which would surely cost a lot). Doesn't really matter to me though.

I'm actually interested and don't have the game yet, so this is going to be a nice gift. :)

I assume this is to get a lot of gamers that are somehiw missing GTA5 to basically get them onto GTA: Online and its Shark Cards.

Regardless, GTA5 has a great single-player campaign. Those looking for that, it's more GTA greatness.

All of those remastered would be sweet.

More than anything, I really want to see a Vice City 2.

Could that possibly be the "mystery game" that's displayed on EGS? Prior to this they've always announced all freebies ahead of time.

StingingVelvet: snip
Me and R*'s Social Club have a rocky history, which is why I haven't bought any of their stuff in a long time. I still haven't been able to play/activate my copy of Max Payne 3. *grumble grumble*

That said, if they are going to give GTA 5 away on EGS I certainly wouldn't mind giving it a shot.
