darthspudius: I cleaned them up good, they do work. But it wouldn't take much to permanently fuck them up. A bit of a shame to ruin a Yes album. >_<
avatar
Smannesman: Wouldn't ripping them also kind of defeat the purpose of buying a physical copy?
Well you see, I tried putting my CD into my mp3 player but it wouldn't fit.
avatar
Breja: Well, if you're lucky you might also get some racism and homophobic slurs.

JMich: Nah, that's reserved for the AIs among us ;)
So, like 80% of the users?
If you paid with Paypal then one of the few things they're good at is being on your side when it comes to items purchased on eBay. You can request a refund, but it will rule out the possibility of leaving some much deserved negative feedback for the seller if you do.

Indeed, it's amazing how the iPod doesn't even have a disc slot, yet can have several weeks worth of music in it.

BoxOfSnoo: Have you tried repairing the CDs? Or at least using the "banana peel" trick? You might be able to image them or rip them if it's music. It won't last but if you have the stuff off of them then at least you have something.

Just so I can get this straight, you bought the discs, reported/complained they were faulty and got your money back as well as keeping the discs which you now claim are working OK?

No, I complained they were beat up from the condition of the case. Never said they were faulty. A disc can play with plenty of scratches but all you need is one little tiny piece of dirt to enter the cracks to fuck it all up.

My initial complaint to ebay was actually about the conduct of the seller who insulted me when I asked a basic polite question.

I remember my days when my dad thought just that. That was an awkward conversation haha.

He,doesn't know if his coming or going.
avatar
darthspudius: Hahaha no comment.
If you recieved something completely different from what was advertized in description, issue the case to return the item, then send it back and paypal should refund you the money after the seller recieves the item and confirms.

If you recieved something that differs from what claimed in quality, then give a negative review and act as above.

If seller refuses to refund, then be sure to describe everything maximally accurate and include details, while staying on topic and compact. Include photo or video to prove.

If the seller does not react after some time, ebay team will take over the case. In 99% of the cases, the case is solved in favor of buyer. That means, ebay will refund you whole money, you can keep the purchase, seller will be charged by ebay PLUS after specific amount of compaints via such cases, ebay will ban this seller.

Scratched CDs might or might not work, depending on how difficult it is for the drive to read the discs. If it only reads after a good cleaning, that's a damaged disc and therefore very low value.

I am well aware of error correction on players to cope with this sort of thing- some cope better than others.

The OP now has goods, which may or may not have been reported as faulty but are now reported here to be working OK. A refund has been issued. The OP keeps the goods. The seller got fucked, basically.

Now, to return to the OP, who is really the twat?
low rated

Are you sure one wasn't playing while the other was recording?
