catpower1980: Two famous (and controversial) icons of the 20th century died last night.

I don't know anything about Hamilton, but castro is fantastic. One less hitler wanna be.

Shadowstalker16: I also agree that discussion is superior. But many people seem to have the habit of making a discussion political, then posting in it for a few pages against each other and then leaving after claiming the other side is stupid / unreasonable / whatever else and leaving the discussion half done. Or just stop replying without even that feeble warning and let other people waste their brainwaves over their poorly thought out post.
avatar
Nirth: I won't argue with that but something tells me that that sometimes people get tired of their inability to communicate effectively with others, giving up half way through seems better than endlessly trying to conclude something.
Yes that is true. Still replying to the sane posts at least can go a long way (inb4 ''all posts are insane'' edgelord).
Also Ron Glass in case nobody else mentioned him.

Magnitus: Overall, I think Obama behaved like a world leader regarding Cuba, by doing what a leader should do: bridging the gap
I tend to agree, however yesterday I read some article suggesting that Castro wasn't too thrilled about US suddenly becoming friendlier with them, as there Castro lost a good arch enemy. As if Castro really didn't want to be friends with US?

But maybe at this point it didn't matter that much to him anymore...

Gylfe: One less hitler wanna be.
I may be going out on a limb here, but looking back at the last 50 years, I'm willing to bet that the average US president caused more death and suffering and havoc on the world stage in 4 years than Castro did during his entire tenure.
This is such a peaceful, clean, wholesome discussion which warms my heart.
Good riddance to Fidel Castro. I find it ironic how many liberals praise him despite how he basically admitted to targeting homosexuals for being homosexual or how he targeted political dissenters and alleged political dissenters for simply holding or expressing different opinions.

Apparently, some people believe that iron-fisted policies like political repression, the dismantling of free speech, and the prosecution of gays for being gay are fine as long as they done in the name of "equality" or the "working class."

Klumpen0815: Never heard of this Hamilton, looks like the king of hebephilia to me.
So Castro died again, this time for real?
I hadn't heard of him either and searched for his work. Most of it is highly suspect.

And also USA got friendlier so suddenly only because Russia and USA decided it's time for cold war round 2.

And some people in the USA apparently still believe that Cuba is some kind of a hell on Earth just like the official USA propaganda make it seem so.

To put things into perspective:
Beyond the eternal controversy about the age of models, Hamilton was considered as the pinnacle of soft erotica photography which pretty much defined its era, just like the movie "Emmanuelle" did for the world of cinema.

Naturally, if you haven't got interest into the 70's or photography, it's normal that you aren't aware.

I am into photography. Although I wouldn't call his work ''soft'' erotica. His work does have full frontal nudity.
Fidel's in a toasty place right now and it ain't Havana.

In the European culture, it's considered as soft, nudity is commonly accepted in our works of art. His photobooks were even available without restrictions at the public library of my city.

If it's in focus, it's pornography, if it's out of focus, it's art.
