General Troubleshooting
-----------------------

If you're experiencing black screen / crash on launch, please try the following:

- Before starting the game, change video resolution to your desktop one (or the closest match). if that fails, try falling back to 1024x768. Video settings can be found under GOG Galaxy HERE
-- or in Start Menu HERE.
- Close any unnecessary applications running in the background, especially ones overlay-based like EVGA Precision, MSI Afterburner, GeForce Experience, FRAPS etc.
- If running multiple screen setup, try switching to a single monitor.

If none of the above helps, please send your DxDiag to our Support team HERE. The more information we have, the easier it will be to pinpoint the problem.

May the Force serve you well.

THANK YOU GoG! I actually got this up and running a few months ago on my 'modern' PC but it never quite worked 100% correctly. I can't remember what was wrong but it was just wonky enough to not be enjoyable. DEFINITELY a massive favorite and I'm going to lift my current "gotta save some money" moratorium for this...

I think my fingers tripped over themselves to check this out.....
Quick question: does anyone know if this runs at over 60 FPS?
Kudos to all GOG employees who made this possible (technical and business wise). The game feels like a brand new release ( with the exception of the older gfx of course :D). The optimization is top notch and it runs in my native resolution from the get go. Overall highly professionally done :). I hope that all people involved will get big fat salary increase :D

Special thanks to Desney too. Even though i hate the new movies with passion, i must admit that since disney took over, we witnessed steady stream of old lucas games releases on gog. However, still not a big fan of the direction the franchise is currently heading. Btw take the star wars license away from EA, chop chop.

bpiwnik: I'm getting an RDROID_GNOME release build error whenever i boot up the game and it insta-crashes. Any way to fix it?
Same i have no idea how to fix this......
First, thanks for this awesome release GOG :) I was really awaiting for this one, and you finally made it !! :D

I only have one graphical glitch in the third amateur race "Ando Prime" : the sky is "missing" ? But only during one part of the race (the first section).

Excepted that, everything is working perfectly for now :) Installed smoothly on Win7 64bits, I changed my resolution to 1920x1080, and I am even able to use my gamepad ! (you only have to remember to activate it in the options, as much as force feedback , don't do like me ;))
Really good work :D

I'm getting the same error some other people are reporting, and allthough it is still early days, can't seam to get passed it. Every time i luanch the game i get the same problem RDROID_GNOME stops, and game crashes. A shame since i loved the game as a child, but i guess i will just have to be paitient. I hope someone finds a solution soon
My fix for the RDROID crash - I disabled both Afterburner and the Gforce Overlay, and also set the game resolution to my desktop resolution (1080p in this case), and it worked fine.
Try disabling any game overlay software you have and see if that will fix the crashes.

Now to get my Razer Wildcat controller working......

I'm playing with my PS2 pad connected with an USB converter and I have absolutely no issue ! And it specified on the gamecard that there is "full controler support", so I think there are good chances that it'll be working well for a classic Xbox 360 controller :) (I think)
Edit : Ah, it seems I talked too fast, someone who use a 360 pad seems to have issues :S

abr_alex: Great release.
Can we get regional price for Russian customers? Costs as much as Frostpunk here.
Wow, you lucky bastards, that's cheap for Frostpunk.

HereForTheBeer: From all the goo-ing and gah-ing around here, I'm guessing the screenshots are giving me a poor impression. From those, it looks like an empty and generic low-altitude arcade racer.
There's several factors here.

The screenshots fail to capture the speed this game manages to convey as you're literally being dragged by a pair or so of engines across colorful worlds and their tracks. You honestly won't have that much time to really look at everything as it all zips by you at beyond breakneck speeds. That isn't to say that the environments are bland, not in the least, but the screenshots will only show you still moments, and that's not even 1% of what the game is like in this case.

There's the audio, too, which does quite a bit of work in pulling you into this do-or-die racing. Each racer is uniquely voiced, every podracer has its own unique "feel" through its sounds, each world and track has its own environmental cues, and more.

Of course, under, or on top, of all of that, is the universe this game takes place in. This game recreates and expands on arguably one of the best parts of the first Star Wars prequel film, and it does it superbly. It probably helps that, at the time, all of the other prequel-themed games were below-average, but that would be doing this game a disservice to say it only stands out as a result of that.

As you've said, there's a lot of "goo-ing" and "gah-ing", but that's for good reason. An average game wouldn't get this kind of attention.

I've, personally, been waiting forever for this to come to GOG, and I'm quite happy to finally get my hands on this version.

This did not work for me, but thanks for sharing.
My next wish: Yoda Stories. I'd love to see another LucasArts classic — Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. I hope that there are plans to release some not so cool Star Wars games like The Gungan Frontier, Droid Works, Pit Droids, Force Commander.

Cheers to CD Projekt!
Is there a trick to get an controller working? The joystick setup doesn't recognise my XBox 360 USB controller.

I also only get weird resolutions to chose from. My systems resolution is standard 1920x1080 but thats not available. I think the available ones are 16:10 resolutions because 1680x1050 is available.
