The sound of defiance.

The Lion's Song is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com. Get it 30% off until January 15, 2PM UTC.
Austria, early 20th century. Wilma, a young composer of incredible talent, must fight society's prejudice and her own demons while struggling to complete her magnum opus. Told through minimalistic, sepia-kissed pixel art and wonderful music, this evocative adventure spans four episodes (all included), each featuring several player-made choices that will dictate the remaining story and its final outcome.
Looks too much like a mobile game.

Funny you should mention that, not only is it phonewarez - not mentioned anywhere in the description - but its also far more expensive on here - see picture from iStore, £6.29 on here. Cracking how this store improving all the time.

I asked them for a drm-free version of it a while ago, but I didn't think GOG would accept a small beautiful artistic niche game like this. Especially with the Breja's of this world polluting release threads with their whining :P.
I keep forgetting only positive comments are allowed in release threads.

Look, I love point & click adventure games, but I can't stand this indie obsession with pixelation and making a game as hard to watch as possible. Playing an entire game like this, all pixels and shades of brown would be quite literally painful to me. It's a complaint as legitimate as your praise. If my post is "whining" we can just as well write off any positive one as "sycophantic slobbering" or something like that. Yet somehow, despite being the bad guy her apparently according to everyones narrative, I'm not the one insulting you.

1. It's not phonewarez - it's a game that can be played on a phone. Because it's a point-and-click game, and point-and-clicks do well on touch devices. Most Wadjet Eye games have iphone versions.

2. Mobile games are cheaper, that's just a fact of life. Also, renting a movie on Amazon pay per view is cheaper than going to the theater.
I would buy for the soundtrack:

This looks great, and completely unexpected for me since I'd never read about it before. Looking forward to buying it!

There's a very big line between being an idiot about taste (the worst idiot, possibly) and not liking something. What's the point of getting on a thread like this and being an asshole? You could've just said "Unfortunately I don't like this style, so I look forward to the next new release". Instead, you went all superior for something that clearly makes you very emotional. Join a forum for hating this "indie obsession" (lol, how ridiculous can you be) and leave the rest of us alone.

Since we are a small studio things might take a bit longer, but we are always listening. And we are hearing you :-) Please stay tuned, we are considering releasing an OST.

And I'm the one acting superior? Ok. Right. Obviously.

The same as to write about how great you think the game looks. To express my opinion. Which does not need to be to your liking.

I'm not emotional. You're the one acting all hysterical. I was being facetious. I expressed my opinion in an exagerated way. First time something so shocking has ever happened on the Internet I'm sure. I guess I underestimated people's capacity for feeling offended and outraged over everything.

Oh, I can get far more ridiculous than that. Not quite as ridiculous as calling someone an idiot, telling him to leave the forum, and still accuse him of being the one acting superior. That takes some very special talent for being ridiculous.

You're still free to play pretentious shlock to your heart's content, you know.
hmmm, it says choices matter. might be interesting to see what happens in the story and try for all the endings, nice to see all episodes in this release ready to go. Artstyle is ok, color palette may be intentional for mood/immersion. wishlisted

Nope.
That's NOT it at all.

Useful information is always appreciated. Like, you know, if there are bugs. Or you didn't like the story and why. If it's poorly translated or written. Pretty much anything but the graphics could be more useful. Your comments in this threads never are. It's all about your dislike about a certain artstyle. And it gets old, and annoying. We all know you don't like it. So what?
The game's artstyle is available to everyone, and everyone getting in this thread already knows about it. There are videos and images of the game in this same store.

So, how about just moving on, like most of us do with games we don't like?
Not every game is meant for us, but there might be other people who might like them. So let them enjoy the games.

But I don't think your comments are about the games, I think the comments are about yourself and for your own benefit.

I can only see two reasons why you -and several other people- keep going on and on about disliking the artstyle in these kind of theads.

The first one is trying to convince GOG we customers don't want pixel art games in the store. As I love good pixel art games, that's obviously extremely annoying to me, and I find it very selfish of you, as you can easily just not buy the game and shut up about it.
The second one is trying to make the developers abandon pixel art to fit your likings more. Maybe in their following projects. Or perhaps some other developer might be reading your wise words of knowledge and takes note. Well, I don't like it either, because, well, I DO like pixel art.

Both reasons look extremely self-centered to me.

And yes, to me there's a huge difference between positive and negative comments. Which is why I sometimes put comments about how I like a release and yet NEVER comment on games I don't want, care or need. I can always NOT buy a game I don't want, it's pretty easy to do, you know. I can't buy games not released, though.

So yes, I really find your serial shit posting on release threads egotistical and bad manners. Even though sometimes you try to make it look as a joke of sorts.

This is a release thread. Not reviews. It's about why we want/don't want to buy the game. What you are talking about is stuff I could only know if I wanted the game, already bought it and already played it.

rgnrk: So, how about just moving on, like most of us do with games we don't like?
You mean, like you could have just moved on and ignored my post?

Indeed. Can you see me pestering and insulting those people, the way I am being insulted by you guys?

You might very well think that. It's no concern of mine.

So, me expressing my opinion is wrong becasue it might persuade GOG or devs to follow it, but for you to do the same and achieve that same result is good. I see.

GOG can only release so many games per year. That number may be growing, but it's obviously limited. More games I'm not interested in means less games I am interested in. Whether we're saying what games we want more of, or what games we want less of, ultimately doesn't matter. The only real difference here is that I'm not insulting you and don't have a problem with you expressing your opinion, a courtesy you seem unable to reciprocate.

You're saying if I have to port a PC game to mobile I have to downgrade every single technical aspect because the target has the power of a potato?? No way!
Whereas here it literally is the same game and it's just extortion.

Starmaker: Also, renting a movie on Amazon pay per view is cheaper than going to the theater.
Going by that analogy, the price is linear proportional to the size of a pixel.
Time to open a cinema and show a 1x1 square! Yeah no, the price is because you occupy foreign space and someone has to mop up your crap when you're done.
