The lockingl of Commandos can only be connected to the Nazi imagery. Why else would they lock Commandos 2+3 which were never even on the index? All three games have one thing in common, though: censored violence and removed Nazi imagery in the German releases. That's probably what`s going on here, and that's why I believe that Medal of Honor might be locked, as well, at some point.

Mortal Kombat 2 is no longer confiscated as of 2005 (according to Wikipedia, at least), but it`s still on the Index. >_>

From what I read in addition to this link it is not forbidden to own these games or to import them. So I think it comes down to the question if buying digital games from a company that is not based in Germany counts as import or not.
If it counts as import they should be able to sell these games to us.
(But that was just what I got from reading these law mess, perhaps I interpreted it wrong)

The opening post needs an update with the new section "Germany" and the three Mortal Kombat games.
I cannot access their gamecards anymore as expected.

If I understand the OGDB entries correctly only censored versions were released in Germany and therefore Commandos 2+3 never ended up being confiscated..
So if Medal of Honor here on GOG is an uncensored version that contains swastikas and the like you might be right that it could at risk of becoming unavailable for German users as well. (If I understand that correctly.)

Correct. The international versions of Commandos 2+3 could have landed on the index, but they evidently didn't. It's a possibility, unfortunately. We'll have to observe this situation very carefully.

This problem also points out potential trouble for the future. Let`s talk about the deal with Warner Bros.

If Mortal Kombat 4 or Trilogy or maybe even Mortal Kombat 9 (I doubt that, but let's go with that for argument's sake...) were part of that deal, they`ll probably be unavailable to German users from the get-go.

I'm also skeptical about the other F.E.A.R. games. Granted, neither F.E.A.R. 2 nor 3 have nazi imagery nor were they ever confiscated. It`s still possible that we might miss out on those as well, IF they were part of the deal.

Right now, I'm not sure if I can trust them at all anymore.

I actually own that retail collection of Max Payne, though I don't know whether it runs on Windows 8. It works perfectly fine on Windows 7, though it requires a fan-made patch for the audio (some weird thing about the format they used for sounds and music), or it will be mostly silent.
