Option A: They will launch a (mostly) feature complete gog version that has crossplay enabled - in which case you're probably not going to see it here for another half a year, and that's a
generous estimate. Since the Steam version requires a Bethestard account for multiplayer, chances are that the same will be true of the prospective gog version, which the userbase here probably won't take too kindly to.
Option B: They'll simply strip out multiplayer for the gog version - in which case you'd have been better off getting it on Steam in the first place, since the singleplayer component of the Steam version is DRM-free anyway.
