zeffyr: I'm half-convinced that your post must be sarcasm. I do like music from trailer very much, reminds me movie trailers and it supports well presented action-packed scenes.
avatar
DebbieL: There's nothing wrong with the music itself, it just doesn't fit the game at all. It's completely inappropriate to the period and the Wild West setting. If you watch some of the gameplay previews like this one, you'll see what the music in the actual game is like - I just don't know why they couldn't have used similar music for the trailer.
I dont think the game is supposed to be historically accurate
There exist steam punk western games, Zombie western games etc.
Heck there are a few other things in this game itself wich you coud say arent neccacary historically accurate besides the music in the Trailer.

But i agree they coud have perhaps used music from the game itself or other cool music with western inspired style music.

It's not about 'historical accuracy' as such, it's about creating the right atmosphere. The original Desperados games were basically the videogame equivalent of spaghetti-Western movies - not particularly realistic as such, but evoking a very strong period flavour. The trailer music not only fails to do that, it's not even an accurate representation of what's actually in the game, since - as I pointed out - the in-game music is completely different. The devs themselves have mentioned that these trailers were created by a different company and had nothing to do with them.

I wasnt really disagreeing with you
i just thougth you talked about historically accuraracy when you mentioned :
inappropriate to the period and the Wild West setting

Thats all
Sorry for misunderstanding you
No problem Lodium. This is one of my favourite game series ever, so I feel quite strongly about it. ;)

Well, i really liked the previous games myself so i can understand where you are coming from
If they were going to use music not present in the game i wonder why they didnt use honky tonk music or other western inspired style music/songs for the Trailer.
Seams like a missed oppertunity to promote a genre thats not often heard in Popular music.

Always like this series, even if both Desperados 1 and 2 were harder than the Commandos series, wishlisted for now.

B1tF1ghter: It's notable that it is not a GOG specific deal. Same applies on steam (fyi everybody).
(I mean deluxe for the price of standard)
avatar
MarkoH01: Do you really think you have a target group here on GOG for this kind of information? ;)
No Marko. I just made an informative statement of the fact to bring up that it's not some "amazing gog exclusive deal" for those who might not be aware how it is in this case. That's all.

Nobody said that's GOG exclusive preorder deal in the first place.

Yes, but also nobody said it wasn't and that's the point.

Nice try.
But since I always want to act professionaly I'm going to spell it out for you.
There are instances when GOG DOES get GOG exclusive stuff - that's mostly cosmetic dlc (example here https://www.gog.com/game/sniper_ghost_warrior_contracts_galaxy_glow) and although GOG exclusive pricing deals are very rare they are still kind of a thing (again, EXTREMELY RARE).
Since wording is made in such a way ("pre-order now for the price of the standard edition") it potentially COULD confuse some into thinking that it's some amazing GOG exlusive deal. And if those people regardless of their number would not check steam page nor be told they would just not know. I made that post to be informative for those (and to save some time from checking steam page for verification for others).
I'm not willing to repeat this explanation. So stop baiting.

I really don't see HOW this might happen. The wording imo emphasizes on the "pre-order" part and not on the "GOG" part. But then again - who cares anyway ;) So no need to kill each other over additional information some might find useful and others might not.

Great news, now if only the parent company THQ Nordic AB could put on their big boy gauntlet and smack some sense Deep Silver so they stop pulling their stunts and actually bring more games here.

Funny how THQ Nordic GmBH and Deep Silver operates completely opposite to each other under the same owner but i guess that's what happens when you give your underlings free reign to conduct their own businesses. I'm not fond of Deep Silver but letting your corporate overlords decide everything is usually a bad idea judging from the state of the AAA industry,

But steam does the same thing sometimes
Not the same way of course but very simmilar
There are cases where you can confuse a preorder deal on steam in a simmilar fashion you just discribed here
I dont get the idea that people think steam is a saint in all they do regardless.

OK, thank you for your time put into this post and for trying to explain your point of view.

Yet I cannot agree with it. Like MarkoH01 pointed out, nothing in GOG's news implies that it's GOG-specific deal. Is it an exclusive deal though? Of course, there are certain benefits of pre-ordering that won't be avaiiable after game's release.

You seem to be angry that GOG somehow mislead you and you thought that pre-ordering on GOG would be more beneficial than pre-ordering on Steam. In fact you get the very same pre-order offer on both sites for the very same price (except here it's DRM-free, obviously...). Hell, I even paid 0.10 PLN less by pre-ordering on GOG than I would on Steam! Not that it was any incentive for me at all, ofc ;-)

Summing up, no one mislead you, the offer on both sites is exclusive as a pre-order, it's equally beneficial and it's up to you whether you choose to have a DRM-free copy in your GOG's library or not.
