My gallery is up to date. My 1st HDR attempt (Czech church) was a failure (I didn't like the clouds), so I did put the normal photo. I'll try again later. :)

Nice work ! I am impressed with the clarity of the images. I know you are liking the D90 . . . =)
Is the sepia work done in camera?
Thank you !
I turn my pictures into Sepia via the software PhotoFiltre. I could use my camera as well and the result is pretty much the same.

Damn man nice shots :)
I've considered getting into it myself.
Why? My stepfather has this Canon AE-1 Program just lying around unused, along with a 35/70mm f/4 Canon lens and two Vivitar telephoto lenses to go with it. There's some sort of not-so-standard battery that needs replacement at the moment, though (battery test beeps too slow).
This is no new DSLR. Old-school 135 film (35mm). In addition, it's based on the old FD lens mount that Canon dumped for EOS/EF, probably for body/lens autofocus intercommunication purposes. (FD is pure manual focus, with the exception of a few autofocus lenses.)
But I still feel that it's a good camera just sitting unused, probably because we have cheap point-and-shoot digital cameras now that are far more convenient to use, if significantly worse image quality-wise. After all, photography largely boils down to shutter speed, aperture, and focus, right?
(I don't know how long I'll be able to find film for it, though. Kodachrome got dropped a few years ago or so. I don't even know if local stores even sell film locally. If push comes to shove, I could use the back door normally reserved for a databack attachment for a digital sensor back, but I lack the technical aptitude to develop something like that.)

I would urge you to look into digital photography. The quality has gotten much better in the past few years. I can't begin to comment on how much easier it is to edit / manipulate images . . . or how nice it is to work on images without being in a darkroom with an xacto knife and dodge paddles . . =)
Anyway, you can pick up a decent digital camera for under $200 and . . . as your knowledge base expands . . . move up to a better camera. I actually prefer digital now . . . my F2 has not been used in a couple of years . . . I am considering making an investment in a D90 like Cambrey's currently using - giving up film completely . . . = )

Ah, but the problem with going digital is that I'd need to spend quite a bit-not just on the camera body itself, but also lenses (assuming DSLR).
I had decided that I wasn't going to go digital until I could afford a Sigma SD15 and a lens or two. The SD15 apparently isn't out yet, and the SD14 it's about to replace already costs something like US$1500, but I don't have much choice if I want a Foveon sensor as opposed to the typical Bayer sensor that Canon, Nikon, etc. use. (To make matters worse, Sigma uses their own lens mount, although the electrical interface is basically Canon EF. Most say that it's the lenses that are important-enough so that they'll trade out all their older equipment to adopt a new lens mount and compatible lenses in some cases.)
Besides, digital still can't quite match the quality of film yet, be it resolution or color reproduction. They're working on it, but I don't know how long it'll take to close the gap. (I don't think the Bayer matrix will do it, though-too bad Foveon hasn't had much development.)
That said, it would be neat to just snap some shots, delete the unneeded ones, and pop the memory card into my notebook/tablet and touch it up right there. A Wacom-equipped Tablet PC with the right apps would make an excellent digital darkroom of sorts, would it not?

Yeah, the investment in a good DSLR is substantial. One of the reasons I haven't moved completely to digital as a matter of fact. I have a bag full of Nikkor lenses that I may be able to use with the D90 or not. The 18mm - 105mm that it comes with is pretty much all I need nowadays. If I can use my old lenses with it . . . I will be good to go. Still considering other brands and models since my requirements allow me to use lesser equipment. I am well past spending large sums on equipment though, I no longer need quality beyond what I can get from digital.
I misunderstood your original post and responded under the impression that you were considering getting into photography for the first time . . . my bad.
It is nice to snap away with a digital. I prefer a desktop for editing tasks and use my laptop when necessary. Can't comment on a Tablet PC as I have never used one for editing . . . post some images when you get that Sigma SD15 . . . .=)

Haven't taken any photos for years as I no longer have a decent camera. But here's an example:

wooow did you touch those up? or use some sort of really cool lighting setup?

That's completely untouched. Even taken in normal lighting.

Nice shots, are you using any sharpening FX in camera or when editing?

Nice one too . . . steampunk potential . . . =)

Yes I do (using photofiltre). Is it too much ?
