NamelessFragger: I've considered getting into it myself.
Stuff: I would urge you to look into digital photography. The quality has gotten much better in the past few years. I can't begin to comment on how much easier it is to edit / manipulate images . . . or how nice it is to work on images without being in a darkroom with an xacto knife and dodge paddles . . =)
Anyway, you can pick up a decent digital camera for under $200 and . . . as your knowledge base expands . . . move up to a better camera. I actually prefer digital now . . . my F2 has not been used in a couple of years . . . I am considering making an investment in a D90 like Cambrey's currently using - giving up film completely . . . = )

Ah, but the problem with going digital is that I'd need to spend quite a bit-not just on the camera body itself, but also lenses (assuming DSLR).
I had decided that I wasn't going to go digital until I could afford a Sigma SD15 and a lens or two. The SD15 apparently isn't out yet, and the SD14 it's about to replace already costs something like US$1500, but I don't have much choice if I want a Foveon sensor as opposed to the typical Bayer sensor that Canon, Nikon, etc. use. (To make matters worse, Sigma uses their own lens mount, although the electrical interface is basically Canon EF. Most say that it's the lenses that are important-enough so that they'll trade out all their older equipment to adopt a new lens mount and compatible lenses in some cases.)
Besides, digital still can't quite match the quality of film yet, be it resolution or color reproduction. They're working on it, but I don't know how long it'll take to close the gap. (I don't think the Bayer matrix will do it, though-too bad Foveon hasn't had much development.)
That said, it would be neat to just snap some shots, delete the unneeded ones, and pop the memory card into my notebook/tablet and touch it up right there. A Wacom-equipped Tablet PC with the right apps would make an excellent digital darkroom of sorts, would it not?
