I want Doom 3, but mom says we've got Doom 3 at home.

I don't mind it though. In fact, I like it. Doom 3 is my favourite Doom. Please also bring Retchid's Soundtrack and Deluxe Edition here.

PS: A concept art book would be nice to have too. Please consider making one.

Pneumata has a good Condemned vibe, I like it.
And just after I got Retchid on steam and spent too much time on it to get a refund, ye bastards.

Never had this problem.
Just don't use Steam.
Retchid, other than the terrible name is giving me serious "we have Doom 3 at home" vibes.

Yes, I have the same feeling.
Was naming it "Wretched" a bit too on the nose?

Because it looks like it's based on the same id Tech 4 engine Doom 3 used (probably from the open-sourced code?). I don't mind that at all. In fact, I would like to see more games use that tech. I particularly loved the lighting it could do in games like D3/Q4/Prey.

Well maybe some of us(myself included) liked Doom 3(classic version), and want more of that? :)
(now if only the PRICE weren't so retchid, I might be tempted to bite)

A (much more well off) buddy of mine already has a copy, so they let me take it for a test drive.

(small spoilers warning)

Basic Info
Game starts off about the same as Doom 3, you land in a facility on Titan(albeit AFTER shit has hit the fan) and putter about. The game seems to take some things(like upgradeable suit hardware) from Dead Space/other similar games.

Pros
Has a very nice doom 3 aesthetic
Doesn't require much disc space
You get a gun (low power plasma pistol, infinite ammo) right off the bat....pew pew pew!
Old School secrets and stat list 'achievements'(like breaking drink machines)
Head Popping baddies is fun :-)

Cons
No strafing
Can't skip past cutscenes(couldn't skip the first one anyways)
No anytime saves, but there are save stations (look for ducts/passages to rec rooms)
Only 3 save slots (altho one can overwrite them)
No flashlight(so far, dunno if you get one later)
Some noticed stuttering in the initial cutscene when the ship is landing

My mind is set...when I save up enough and a decent discount comes around I will be getting my own copy :)

Yep. That used to happen to me too. REALLY wanted a certain game, it didn't come to GOG right away, so I gave in and bought on Steam. Then, almost every single time, a short time later it would appear on GOG, and I'd end up buying the game twice.

After enough of this punishment, I finally learned to be patient. Yes, sometimes I had to be VERY patient. But usually most games I want do end up here. And with these shooters, they usually show up here pretty quickly.

And even if they don't, good lord how my backlog cries for me.

My first thoughts were : Clive Barker's Jericho , Manhunt , The Suffering .
Does pneumata allow key rebinds ?

From the inclusion of UE4PrereqSetup_x64.exe and SOMETHING-Win64-Shipping.exe naming scheme, I would say that it is Doom 3 remade in Unreal Engine 4. The internal name is ShooterGame, which doesn't make it sound less generic.
