The difference is that BG3 -- regardless of how "done" and feature-complete it might be -- has roughly two-thirds of its base-game content that won't be released in any form to the public for most of five more months. That makes it impossible to make a fair comparison between the two titles, even if you ignore all the post-release DLC for Wrath. I think that's what Time4Tea was getting at.

Sure. But what does that change? The things it's better at it will still be better at. And the things it's not as good at it will still not be as good at. The only difference is you'll know more of the story.

My laptop doesn't meet the system requirements that have been posted for Baldur's Gate 3, so it's a hard no. If this isn't your situation, why not get both games?
