DaCostaBR: Oh thanks. I actually watched about 5 different videos on people beating the brawl already, but thanks. I actually meant more as in how confortable did you feel being forced to play heroes you weren't used to.
Oh didn't have a problem with that, i'm not really a person who "mains". In fact the first thing I did is get my first 15 levels on the previous brawl were you get a random hero pick at the start and kept getting a new one on each death. That was fun to me.

If I get away with it and it's not a hero I dislike I tend to pick the one the game autoslects in quick plays too.

WBGhiro: Anyone here play the new Team Fortress 2? The Halloween update just came out and added a new mode and more unlockables.

It'd be dandy if there's another 3 people willing to tackle the hard mode brawl together
Some of the costumes look amazing and I dig Mei's new Intro.
Too bad Zarya and Tracer got lame Olympics skins instead of halloween themed ones. :(

WBGhiro: Community really changed too, people seemed to be more interested in fucking around and doing stupid stuff than actually play the objectives, at least back when I quit.
That actually seemed to get somewhat better after the update, not sure why. Now I see less of the "party dancers" who just screw around doing nothing, people are usually at least trying... something.

It is nowadays the community servers, if one goes to them, where there still might be lots of such people just hanging around, but then at least for CTF maps (besides maybe 2fort and turbine), the community servers seem pretty empty to me.

Still, there are lots of folks also on the official (casual) servers who are not really interested in teamplay nor trying to win a round, but just e.g. sniping other snipers, or getting easy backstabs as a spy here and there (and then stalking invisible 99% of the time), or running around like headless chickens as scouts, only trying to club people from behind.

Sometimes it is pretty stupid when you see that almost everyone else in your team is either a sniper or a spy. For some reason hardly anyone e.g. plays a soldier, which still is the most versatile class, good both for offense and defense. Many rather just drop from the server than change from a sniper or spy class to something else.

And if you complain about the lack of teamplay and support... many people just say "hey d00d, it is f2p, no one cares about the objectives, we just want to have fun...". Ok then, I just am not having fun if the team keeps losing to the point that the enemy is easily respawn camping (just because they had more sense to play as heavies, soldiers and medics), and the game is over in two minutes as the enemy caps the intel three times without any real opposition.

Two things that would make TF2 much better (and at least the first one has been active in some servers before, but not the official servers unfortunately):

1. Restriction on how many players can be of certain class, under certain percentage of all players. That way there would be less of those snipers and spies just dicking around. Or also that five engineers build a wall from sentries.

2. There should be a point reward for capping, or even merely touching the intel on enemy room. Like +10 personal points for touching the enemy intel in their intel room, and another +20 for capping it. That way people would be far more interested into the objectives, as it would actually increase their points. I don't understand why it doesn't give any personal reward for meeting the objectives, you get points for only killing enemies (or helping someone to kill).
.

Back on topic: are these taken into account in Overwatch? :)

I got really lucky and got Ana's and Pharah's skins (but I'll have to swap it out for the ranmaker one as soon as i get it). If I get the Mercy one before the event ends, I'll be completely satisfied even if I get nothign else of note.

You really described everything that made me quit TF2, when you find the rigth server and the right people that game is so fun but when you get the wrong one all you get is gettign called a "tryhard".

Overwatch has some system to counter that. Teams are 6 people only, so if someone isn't doing something productive people tend to notice. At the end of the game you also get medals and even a little clip showing the "Play of the game" as an incentive for people to play as best as they can. So far I've only had serious matches.

I wish it had an anti-stacking feature too, some heroes are really underplayed.

It's also kind of funny of how hard it tries to emulate TF2 from the comics to the CGI films. I actually wish they would do a better job with that, the Heroes in Overwatch are colourful but a bit basic compared to TF's cast. But I guess the writing team just isn't on par with Valve's. They really outdid themselves in making those 9 psychopaths endearing.

The reason I stay away from competitive most of the time is because I can get away with playing whoever, but ever since I stopped playing everyday and settled on twice a week, I've noticed my aim isn't quite what it used to be. So I naturally have stayed away from sniper and hitscan heroes, which unfortunately are the only ones in the brawl.

Lately I've been into heroes that are more about gamesense and positioning than accuracy, like Lúcio, Reinhardt and Mei.

1. On Competitive it's only one of each hero per team. On Quick Play you can play whatever you want.

2. You get points for taking the objective, and objective kills count much more than regular kills. The only actual incentive for that though has more to do with the play of the game, and cards.

At the end of the match you see a highlight of the best play in the entire match, the "Play of the Game", which is determined through those points.

After that you are presented with the 4 best players in the match (most heals, most eliminations, most objective time), which is also partly determined by these points and players of both teams can vote on the best player of the match.

Neither thing has any impact at all, it's purely for bragging rights, but people do want it. Maybe you just got a shiny new highlight intro and you want to get Play of the Game so everyone can see it. The cards I think is less important, since etiquette dictates you should always vote for your healer, since that's already a thankless job as it is. Although I do think objective time comes next in the etiquette hierarchy.

Oh I didn't know that, can't wait to hit level 25 and try it out, I'm kind of tired of seeing double genjis or hanzos.

Neat!
Didn't level up during the event yet. At least I'm (1)17 so leveling shouldn't take that long. :D

Doesn't mean you'll get much more variety because of it, just wait until someone screams at you for picking any hero besides the 8 or so that are in the meta.
I love it, it's my go-to multiplayer game to hang out with friends, especially after TF2 went downhill recently.

Elmofongo: No because people here does not like online multiplayer games, especially if its Shooters.

And I dislike this game because its blatent Internet bait and Rule 34 bait and for all the internet folk that dick rides on anything cartoony and disney and colorful.

This fucking game is made for people like this:

http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/subcultures/overwatch/photos

It makes me sick at times. And I dislike this game for how un-blizzard it looks.
I seriously doubt that Blizzard purposefully designed the game to be either of those things, especially considering the effort they've put into disassociating the game from some of the...'spicier' fan material. It's a fact that any popular piece of fiction becomes subject to Rule 34; that's kind of the whole point of the rule. Overwatch just happens to be among the next big things and is fairly character-driven to boot. I mean, even something like Dark Souls isn't exempt from those occurrences, and that series doesn't even focus on characters all that much.

As for your last point, what exactly makes you think it looks un-Blizzard? If anything, for me, it's pretty much exactly how I imagined a Blizzard-developed FPS would turn out.

No it would have looked like Starcraft Ghost.

Aside from the grittier, setting-appropriate environments, Ghost honestly isn't all that different from Overwatch. Most of the character models it featured were cartoony with exaggerated proportions, pretty much a hallmark of Blizzard design: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/starcraft/images/d/d6/Characters_SC-G_Art1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20090923005822 Heck, its multiplayer was even planned to be class-based.
