Is it coming to GOG? What happened between GOG and Beamdog that all their previous releases made it here but this one didn't.

And please do not turn this into a thread of why you think it shouldn't be here and bashing Beamdog. There are plenty of places for that. This is for discussion of Whether there's any new of the status of the game coming here, and anything we can do to help this along.
I vaguely recall reading somewhere that it's to do with the modding scene and the EE's reliance on Steamworks (or workshop or whatever they call the modding thing) means its basically pointless non Steam.

That may have just been speculation though.
high rated
Steam workshop is evil. It practically locks devs to steam and even if they sell their game somewhere else, they have to do it crippled. Sadly more and more devs use it.
So they just enhanced it by drm' if modding, nice, I do appreciate beamdog as a company...
Beamdog's own page states "Get it on Beamdog and Steam". It won't be coming to GOG any time soon.

My understanding is the vast majority of mods work with the Enhanced Edition anyway, so I doubt it has anything to do with Steam Workshop.
They have a non-Steam version available through their own client - claiming that the single portion of NWN:EE is DRM Free (with multiplayer requiring a key - same as Diamond now) - I've not tried running NWN:EE outside of Beamdog's client though - will give it a shot tomorrow if I remember.

So there's no reason why it CAN'T come to GOG...

No big loss if it doesn't show up here.
This is why there should be a secret kickstarter to grab these games for the people before vulture capitalists or activists get them.
Screw Beamdog, the game will probably arrive when they have released most content through Steam Workshop then bundle it up for GOG because it requires less work.

I can't say i care much for the EE version at all because it doesn't seem all that enhanced to me but there is one thing i do care about regarding it, they have modules that don't exist in Diamond Edition which is a pain in the ass or outright impossible to aquire nowadays any other way.

There are also plenty of places to discuss what you think needs discussing. One of which was active within the last 24 hours, but I guess that was still too old for you. Thanks for creating yet another.
Eh, I don't think we really need it. I don't think they even applied a widescreen patch, after all the game didn't even needed it. And don't forget they started charging for the premium modules on top of the base game, and those came with the Diamond Edition for free.

You could argue BG and IWD EEs had a "point", but this one doesn't. NWN died when they took down the Vault anyways. It will never be the same again.

Conjecture, mostly on my part. EE fans claim something is being done about it without providing details about what, and furthermore claim there are no Steam-exclusive mods. I haven't the energy to do further research into either claim, so I'm just going to drop the subject.

Edit: since the above was apparently too confusing, resulting in a response that has absolutely nothing to do with what I thought I wrote, here's a rewording in plainer English:

I discovered that the known methods for downloading Steam Workshop modules without a Steam account do not work for NWN:EE. I proposed this repeatedly as a possible reason why the EE might be rejected by gog (since I refuse to speculate why Beamdog would not want the EE on gog). The fact that they cannot be downloaded is not speculation, and anyone can verify my claim right now. What is speculation, is that gog even cares about this. After much time, one EE fan said that Beamdog was "working on it", with no details or evidence whatsoever, even when I asked for more details. In the same thread, another EE fan claimed that it doesn't matter, because there are no mods on Steam Workshop that aren't also elsewhere, without giving any details as to where exactly they are (the vault?), or how they get there (Some sort of automatic mirror? Some sort of manual, unsustainable mirror?). Since the people who posted these responses couldn't be bothered to give enough information, I'll continue to disbelieve them, but at the same time, I'll stop saying anything more about it until the game comes to gog, if it ever does. The latest I hear from the twitter watchers is mid-August. Rather than the usual "it's up to gog" the reasoning seems to have changed to "some sort of CD-key issue specific to gog", about which I have no further comment.

They fixed issues I had with intergrated intel graphics on Win10.
Pretty darn sure they said a GOG release would come eventually.
