They should hire the guys who designed Terraria. Those could teach them how to do exploration properly.
I called Bullshit on this game the moment I first saw it on E3 2015 I think it was.

Any game that claims itself to be the everything game, with millions of varied and different planets with millions and varied and different creatures is bullshit to say the least. Especially trying that hard to avoid repetitive gameplay recycled assests.

And this is especially telling coming from an unproven Indie Development studio.
Ditto. It was clear it was scripted game play & rarely anything other than the same clips over & over.

The internet keeps giving :D

snowkatt: i dunno about that really
gamers seem to be all too willing to forgive and forget past transgressions when a new shiny is dangled in front of their face

see gearbox softwarre's dubious practises
or the disasters with lego hobbit
pc arkham knight
or the glitch in arkham origins
or how everybody "forgot" microsoft's 2013 E3 presentation of the xbox one
or how piss poor ass creed unity was
or how underwhelming watch dogs was
or diablo 3's online only drm and rah
or simcity 2013 and its drm and limited game world and options
or sims 4 being empty and a frame work for dlc

and most of that is forgotten the moment something new comes out
the xbox one isnt on the same level as the ps4 but its doing better then the wii U
I notice that most or all of the games you mentioned are from big publishers who already have sketchy reputation, so fortunately I would never buy those games anyway. Also those games sucks anyway.

Well at least they're still working on it I suppose.
And it's on sale on a couple of sites at the moment.

It is a good thing and reflects well on them - I would think a lot of devs would cut and run, duck their head and call it a total bust.

I guess they're hoping to maybe do a massive "regular" price cut and a new updated edition and try to salvage it. Aside from the rampant internet hate, how did the game actually fair retail wise?

I know the ugly stats about massive player base shrink - I'm curious how well the game did sales wise though.

Well apparently it had the second biggest PS4 physical launch sales for a game.
I have no idea how many people went for a refund though and I doubt the devs themselves will put out the information.

I don't Twitter either. But clicking the link brought me to an open tweet (no log in required) with a link to this post on no-mans-sky.com.
Huh.

It's funny because after all this shitstorm that happened I'm more curious about the game than ever before. Yet, even with the current discount you can buy so many good games for that price. I don't know if it will ever be viable to buy for me but massive "regular" price cut would be welcome... or maybe I'm wierd one. :P

I was shocked too hehe. I guess the ASA sniffing around perhaps helped nudge things along ;)

My guess, is that it'll be the very basics of base building as it states, which may lead to DLC for differing buildings & the like ;)

P.S. ERMAGERD, Landshark! ;p
