Actually, the slow development can significantly be attributed to the desire of the developers to focus on the GOG release - they already have a 64bit build working which they put on hold in order to get this out.
64 bit build is actually working. On hold because, to comply with popular demand, BD decided to focus on getting GOG build out first.

As far as I am aware it has nothing whatsoever to do with GOG. Beamdog have removed, for all previous "enahanced" versions, the original from the store at the point they push out the "enhanced" version. It is their business model and they cannot leave the original there as a comparison (someone might notice there is no difference at all but the price).
If of course you don't believe me, just read up on the history of BG1 & IWD.

The current edition IS the enhanced edition.

The pure sh*t moon-beamdog puts out it is why GOG has to make these announcements and why people want the ability to still buy the originals versions.

They want to pull the older stable version in order avoid a embarrassment if the older versions started outselling the so called EE edition. Its like people preferring windows 7 over windows 10 . just like ms they would rather bundle the old edition free and force everyone to buy EE over letting both on the store.

My point was simply that claiming it to be solely GOG's decision is just as baseless as claiming it to be masterminded by Beamdog.

On a sidenote: assuming you meant the game pages, GOG doesn't show anything about IP rights, it simply lists the developer and publisher.

How does beamdog get their hands on the rights to these games? How much did it cost them?

Finally, an end to the release date (and associated details) speculation! For now, at least, until the "gog is an hour/day/week/month behind Steam" threads begin. I guess I should praise you diehard EE fans for keeping the faith for so many months, fed only by vague PR rumors (well, actually, many of you bought it on Steam already, but I guess you'll be buying it on gog as well).

I used to care about NWN and gog, but some particular gog users and staff have considerably lessened my enthusiasm.

Oh, and by the way, for those of you who have bought this, how has the whole Steam Workshop thing been resolved? I never did get an answer for that, other than effectively stating that there is no issue without any further details. I guess that since the gog mixes are broken, at least it has no chance of getting on the "treating gog users as second-class citizens" mix.
