Not really sure if it is a good thing or not, considering their fiasco with Frogwares. :/

The only thing that suprises me about this is that it's not Embracer who bought them.

Who knows, maybe next time. And together with Microids. :D
Daedalic is not more the Daedalic of the great adventure games, if Nacon buys Daedalic is for Gollum. The road of Daedalic was the same happened with Cryo, Telltale or Microids, they first were famous doing adventure games, they grew and started doing more genres and then they fell.

Nacon... yuck
I don't know anything about Nacon and I'm not some sort of Daedalic megafan but I've become extremely leery of most acquisitions in the games industry since Microsoft began their second attempt at monopolization buy buying all the major studios and publishers they can get their hands on. They've ruined all but three of my favorite games companies, so I'm skeptical of most other acquisitions at this point. I hope it proves to be a positive thing for Daedalic but yeah, I'm very rarely ever happy about M&A in the games industry these days.
I wonder if this makes possible any interesting crossover/collaboration opportunities. Nacon owns Spiders (Mars War Logs, Technomancer, Greedfall), maybe some adventure game in those settings could be nice?

Yes, hurts every time I am reminded that Nacon owns Spiders.

I'd look at the Nacon / Frogwares situation on The Sinking City.

WOW, I'm hoping there's a major lawsuit in the works over that because that is so wrong it's not even funny.

I've read a lot of posts on this board about that that make Nacon look really bad.

If Nacon really is as bad as those posts allege, then why doesn't Frogwares sue them in a court of law over their bad actions?

They actually did last year, if I recall correctly.
The lawsuit just hasn't yet kicked into full gear, so to speak, with pandemic-related restrictions being the main obstacle for the trial to be held at court in France.

It seems Nacon disagrees with the allegations that Frogwares has made against them.

Here is an old article about that:

https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2021-03-01-nacon-blames-frogwares-for-feature-lacking-steam-version-of-the-sinking-city

I'm not saying Nacon is right. I personally don't know enough about this situation to know who is telling the truth and who isn't.

Is it possible that Nacon's assertions are correct though, and that Frogwares is disgruntled and has "buyer's remorse" about the contract(s) that Frogwares willingly chose to sign, and that is the true source of Frogwares' beef?

Is it possible that Nacon isn't at fault?

Is it possible that Frogwares is also at fault, and that both sides share some blame for wrongdoing?

The posts I've read in the past about this issue were always very one-sided in favor of Frogwares and against Nacon.

Maybe that's because Nacon is truly the only one at fault.

Or maybe it's because observers never heard out Nacon about their position?

Just removed all my wishlisted games from Daedalic, I'm not going to support Nacon by spending on IPs they own.
Aw hell naw not Nacon. I wish Microids bought them because they makes games of the same genre and they need a comeback after they fell off hard. Don't think they have that much money to throw around though...
I have never heard of Nacon before this thread, and now that I see all these negative comments about them, I need to do some research and find out why people are so upset about Nacon.
