paladin181: I asked about games that don't receive updates despite the updates being available on other sites. I asked about the abysmal support of Linux here when games have Linux ports available on Steam or Humble. I asked about lingering problems in games and broken promises like upgrade paths for Pillars of Eternity (soon™, right?) or the problem with F.E.A.R. wherein the solution was "don't click on the multiplayer, it doesn't work anyway". It took a LONG time to just remove the MP.exe from the game's installer.
Frankly, at this point you start sounding like my ex-wife, who'd come with a slew of complaints "why don't you ever...?". She wasn't really interested in my answers either, if I gave an answer, she'd instantly move the argument to another "problem".
You mention the "F.E.A.R. problem" that apparently they even fixed (if it was really an important problem to begin with), but you are still angry about it as you apparently feel it took too long to fix. Never content?
What kind of answers are you expecting anyway for all those questions you threw at them? Many of them most probably don't even have a single answer, sometimes it may be up to the publisher, sometimes GOG, sometimes both, sometimes neither. Plus, if it is about relationship or communication between a certain publisher and GOG, do you really expect GOG to disclose that information to you?
Sometimes divorce is the only solution, you know? If I were as angry towards GOG as you appear to be, I'd be out of here already.
kohlrak: EDIT: To be clear, at this point i think GOG does have the best intentions, but the road to Hell is paved with the best intentions, and I'm not really sure if GOG isn't ultimately compromising in ways
that we wouldn't be comfortable with, and to the degree that they're pushing certain devs away that are on our side of certain decisions.
Who is this "we"? Without knowing what you are suggesting (smoke and mirrors), different people have different expectations for the games and services they buy here. A Linux user is angry because the GOG version is missing a Linux version, a German user is angry because the GOG version is missing a German version, an Indonesian user is angry because Steam offers lower prices in his region, a Galaxy user is angry because the GOG version is missing achievements... yet I personally couldn't care rat's ass about those shortcomings.
EDIT: And before someone suggests so, no I am not saying one shouldn't complain to GOG about what they feel as shortcomings, letting them know that you are thinking of taking your business elsewhere because of the problems. For instance, I think this is a very good and important GOGMix:
https://www.gog.com/mix/games_that_treat_gog_customers_as_second_class_citizens (I personally skip the entries which are about a missing Linux or Mac or German version, or that the base price of a game is lower somewhere else, or the game is missing multiplayer, as those are non-issues to me personally. But still good information for those who care about such things.)
But this particular discussion has already went elsewhere, feeling more like complaining just for the sake of complaining.
