Well, if that`s right, then it means that PEGIDA is controlled by the "Verfassungsschutz", because all of the extreme right parties are controlled by it. There was a try to forbid NPD, but couldn`t be done, because most of the leaders of NPD are agents of the Verfassungsschutz. It`s likely still the same nowadays.

See, it's like Eva Hermann. Saying some far out far right things doesn't make you a Nazi. But some of those things sure are bathed in the brown sauce, and it sticks to the shoe like glue.

The difference between the NPD and Pegida is mainly that Pegida is a religious i.e. Christian supremacist group in addition to being nationalist supremacist. Both groups aim to protect 'their' culture against the foreign, and to that end put a protective repellant coat of hostility around it.

Me, I think the foreign culture is the Christian culture. Damn Rome for wiping OUR culture, the wonderful December 25th solstice and appraisal celebration of Sol Invictus, out in favor of this Christmas thing from that Middle Eastern religious cult with all its strange rituals. They've invaded our politics and even have entire powerful political parties named after their religion. Now listen to their crocodile tears just because the muslim population in Germany approaches a pitiful 5%. Ohhhhh "our culture" is endangered. Theirs, maybe. Mine, not at all. How could you know? Do you know them all personally? At least one? I figured you more like the kind of person that doesn't talk to just anyone and likes his sworn enemies at a distance to not accidentally begin understanding them in part.
The first time I've heard about this movement on the radio many months ago it was such a one-sided "Nazi"-bashing without reporting about anything they actually say, that I accepted, that I won't get to know anything substantial about them easily so I ended up not judging the group at all.

Regarding the Christian colour of the German state:
I'd be the first to get rid of it since it's unconstitutional anyway.
I want strict separation of Church and State all the way without exceptions.

Regarding Eva Hermann:
Even conservatives we don't aggree with have the right of free speech and shouldn't be silenced, although I don't like them to have authority over me either of course (see CDU).
What this culture here lacks is the respect for differing opinions and political engagement of the complainers.

I'm with you in separating religion and state completely. Which won't happen, and that tells you how 'endangered' the abendländische Tradition really is by an "invading" muslim religion.

I doubt that. Only 20% of Dresden's citizens are christian and all churches clearly distanced themselves from groups like PEGIDA. PEGIDA is islamophobic for sure, but the majority of followers is probably not christian.

It's ironic how Christianity is blamed for so many of Europe's problems when nowadays only a couple of percent of the population of the Union of European Socialist Republics are practicing this religion.
