59€ for a few connotations?
This crap is available for free in three languages for educational purposes here.

I don't think it sells so well because of the strengthened nationalistic movements though but rather because this edition just came out and every university, student and professor of history, politics, social studies etc... more or less must have it anyway. The few "fans" will most likely not care for the connotations and just keep their original version.

mein kampf is strongly boring book i was not able to read all. i cant understand why jews - those dilligent hardworking people, which never impose their religion to others - was considered as threat. in fact is quite difficult to convert to judaism even if one wants to.

BUT! ! ! ! ! defending europe and its culture can not be considered as tendence to nationalism (national socialism, nazi ... etc) because europe IS NOT one nation.

despite all you maybe mean about me, i dont mind certain level of multiculture. i like to visit vietnamese areal with their shops and canteens with bun-cha here in prague, called little hanoi. in my work i often meet chineses, christian touaregs from algeria, hindu indians..
but i never come to terms of islam presence in europe. it's richly proven that islam is mycelium of terrorism, and mosques, exacted by so called moderate muslim's communities, serves after time as bases for radical islam. it is ussual model - moderate islam first, then gradually risen demands.

read what happens in uk

that oversensitiveness of vainamoinens and similar is secondary evil caused by hitleric nacism. we may never allow to get damaged by nacism for second time by getting weak and let our beautiful middle and western europe fall into islam's craps! no one other group demands own incompatible law and state in a state and there is still hazard that after few "so so" calm generation comes generation inclined to radicalism even not willing to wait for natural prevailing islam in society (im not able take even second eventuality. i simply dont wish it.)

people that invite islam are either not able to see over edge of own lives or they ignore it, maybe have no children.. i dont know.
why islam should succeed in what it didnt make in times of reconquista???? what we got from our ancestors and what we'll leave for our offsprings?

catpower1980: I don't know how Italians feel in general about the EU (the union, not the territory) but it's a very common thought in press and forums that Germany (and thus Merkel) is leading EU like she's the only captain on board (with François Hollande as her pet dog).
The general public feels exactly the same in that regard. Our governments (using plural here as we've had 3 in the last 4 years) are a different story, because since 2011 they've been trying to "restore our image" in the EU and the world, and that means that are always more than happy to follow the dominant force directives, even if the public opinion is firmly against it.

Anyway, in no particular order:

a) Merkel is just one person, and focusing the blame on her means downplaying the role of the rest of the government and the parties that are supporting her. But let's imagine for a moment that she resignes today, what happens then? New elections and then another goverment of coalition, with pretty much the same people? Or maybe fascist parties will gain votes and relevance? Is any of this a desirable scenario?

b) Shouldn't we be looking at what our goverments are doing, instead of blaming others for it (be it Merkel, Obama, Putin or whatever)? "Merkel made me do it" is a nice excuse for when you want to make unpopular decisions without taking responsibility for it, but seriously, if she's to blame for pushing forward insane economic and immigration policies, our so called "leaders" are just as guilty for not opposing them.

c) I'm not so sure the "Merkel line" is as widely accepted as the NYT seems to think, at least when it comes to immigration. The differences in policies between eastern Europe and the nordic countries suggest there's still room for dissense (it just sucks that it took an event like this crysis for it to show up). Also, not even Hollande can afford to back her up anymore.

We'll see what happens if Germany closes their borders and asks the EU to take a quota of their migrants (like we and Spain have asked for years, unsuccessfully). My gut feeling is that they won't meet a lot more simpathy than we have.
Complaints to the police connected to the events at the central station in Cologne on new years eve reach more than 500:

TStael: "Numerous sexual aggressions in the new year's eve in Cologne."

The translation of the French title.

And the Flemish ones...?
avatar
catpower1980: First is : "Germans on the hunt for mass assaulters in Köln"
Second is : "Köln during the new year eve: those are the facts"
I do hope the chase, or jagd, is eventually successful. or the aftermath at least - but you implied that the francophone media went soft on it.

"Numerous sexual aggressions" - seems not like fluffy reporting to me, from the French side. Unless you know more. This is what you said, though?

I've spoken of Köln with my friends, guys and gals - and the gist of it is, as much as we are proxy disgusted: the primacy of constitution and law making prevails, because this is Europe.

I would have neither the religious, nor their detractors, try and push values of Europe backwards.

We game, celebrate new year, and just are enfranchised participants of civil society - women, men of Köln. and elsewhere in Europe.

We got nearly as mania Asians (mostly Vietnamese and Taiwanese) people here and although they are living in a parallel culture as well and don't speak German too well, nobody (including the supposed nationalists) has anything against them, because they are nice people and apart from some cigarette smuggling mostly lawful. Needless to say that they come from pretty bad backgrounds too but these groups are often Buddhists (which make awesome vegetarian and vegan food, yummy) or not religious at all. They are usually way more racist (would never consider marrying themselves, their children or their grandchildren to Europeans) than the native population, this is sad but I wouldn't know what to do about it.

If multiculturalism should have taught us anything, it should be the ability to understand foreign perspectives, so people should really try to understand these young men that think it's no problem to assault the local women.

Imagine you...
- are raised in a way and at a location where you often haven't even spoken to a female stranger, let alone seen her face or (ermagerd) seen her in a slightly revealing outfit
- were probably never allowed to drink alcohol before (which is known for lowering inhibitions) and don't know which dosis has which effect
- have been brought up with a belief system that tells you the exact place of women in society under men and that free women who are not hiding themselves, are driving cars, earning their living themselves, are not raised to be household pets and mothers and are roaming the streets in a supposedly "shameless way" are sluts anyway
- have learned how to publicly shame "sluts" and have your "fun" with it at the same time
- have been raised to rather get others convert towards your vastly superior belief system than respecting theirs and trying to adapt
- are entering a society which is in many ways the exact opposite of what you consider to be "honorable" alongside a huge amount of people that are exactly like you, even the same gender and age

Really, try to understand this perspective and you understand why all this happens and why Islam can't be ignored as the major part of the problem, every (muslim) immigrant that has entered Europe in smaller numbers and has taken his time to understand our ways does see that, but the native Europeans are still in denial nonetheless.
In all their supposed multiculturalism, Europeans still don't know anything about cultures that are really different to theirs and are so deeply rooted in their ways (which often isn't a bad thing), that they simply can't imagine anything different to exist and simply deny its existence, even if the resulting problems are all around them.

All ways (including the nice ones) to improve the situation are blocked by this European narrow mindedness, total lack of understanding and resulting ignorance.

Klumpen0815:

i understand they arent responsible for where they are born and for what educated but we can not to be responsible for it too and our security goes first. why should we have regard for economical interestes of someone first if it is dangerous for our lifes? they should build their own prosperity anyway..

islam is really bad mind background for human to live in western society.

it's always time bomb. consider cases when young muslim was seemingly integrated in western society, he had fun, communicated normally with sinfully dressed women, drinked alcohol and so on, but after some time islam catches with him anyway and the young man seeks for penance, and trades with allah - ok, i made sins, so now im going to sacrifice myself to blast up as many pagan dogs as possible. fun on earth first, then quick heaven with virgins.

this young man may be absolutely mentally normal otherwise (not sadist and so on) - not being muslim. thats it. not every muslim is terrorist but every terrorist is muslim.

To me it appears often these multiculturalistic people believe that it is only about being ignorant, ie. if you just tell the masses of 20-year old males entering the country that "here no means no and you can't touch a lady even if she has a mini-skirt", a light bulb will lighten up above their collective head and they are like "Wow, really? Imagine that! How come that never occurred to me? That makes sense when you think about it.". As if people will change just like that, and their old beliefs were just a misconception that they are instantly ready to throw away.

The other part of the problem that this kind of view may also feel "degrading" to the asylum seekers, someone telling them how their system and society is superior, and telling this like talking to kids. So expect annoyance and resistance before they will convert to the new ways, if ever. These are not infants you are talking to, but grown men. They already have the world figured out, and now you are trying to change it. Everyone can think for themselves some strong beliefs that you have, and how much convincing it would take to make you change those. E.g. will an atheist become a Believer and a devoted Christian an atheist, if you just tell them?

In a way it is similar if e.g. westerners would move to Saudi-Arabia in masses. Would they all like to be told like small children why women have to wear a veil, not walk alone without a male escort, and not drive a car? And why you should never drink any alcohol, listen to music etc.? I bet there would be some resistance to that as well, many westerners would object to the new rules, and demand they can have their own rules.

I agree that Merkel herself is just a puppet (of whom? God only knows.....) but as an human being and reponsible person, admitting she fucked up and leaves her place to someone else would be the most decent thing to do IMO....

Otherwise, regarding the various level of powers, we're a good case in Belgium as we have a Flemish independantist as the federal immigration minister and he's intelligent enough to vaguely comply with all the "upper laws" (international rules/European rules/ Geneve convention) while having a stronger policy (verification of the age of "minors", detention without trial, more effective expulsions) than the "full doors open without questions" of some other countries.

Yep. It's a bit more in the medias now but earlier it was just considered as fluffy ordinary news like North-Korea getting the H-bomb. Actually, it's a bit interesting to watch the various media and personalities commenting on this as some people are still in "denial"

A good example are the French feminists who still consider this event as ordinary as "a rape happens every 40min in France"/"most of rapes are commited by family or acquaintances"/"it's the norm in every festive event" so instead they prefered to shout about the lack of female comic books authors at the selection of the last Angouleme festival....

Like Sartre said "l'enfer est pavé de bonnes intentions".... (roughly translation: "hell is made of good intentions")

I see you got my point.
It's hard to teach an old one new tricks and it's impossible if you try this with a huge amount of those.
Nobody did even try though, because ironically in spite of all the (suppressed) experiences made in the last decades, Germans like to think, that misogyny can't be a problem with immigrants. In fact people here often think that people anywhere else are categorically better than anyone here. Now reality kicks in and it isn't nice. As a result some of the bad traits of the natives are reactivated too.

WBGhiro: The english equivalent is "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"
A German equivalent of a comparable meaning:
"Das Gegenteil von "gut" ist "gut gemeint".

All the dishonest methods of censoring and holding back information to "not feed xenophobia" led to exactly that, because now some people take "justice" into their own hands and that means "revenge" on anyone that is somehow muslim looking. It's really sad and could have been prevented with more honesty.
I guess the NPD will get a lot more female members now... :/

BTW: Why do I not hear anything about a similar "sexual assault of infidel women"-flashmob in Berlin? Hasn't there been something of this kind or is this information still suppressed too?
I know that the immigrants got distributed according to the population density and Berlin was mostly spared, but I still do wonder.

Berlin was a warzone as much as it looks now. This censorship will only make AFD, NPD and Pegida grow exponentionally.
