Crosmando: Video games are toys/appliances meant for entertainment, nothing more. Feminists and their ilk have been infiltrating gaming for years, running the bullshit line that games are "art" - but in reality what they really want is to use video games as a method of disseminating left-wing propaganda.

I always lol at people who unironically use the term "homophobia". Lol I'm not "afraid" of homosexuals, I just find them revolting.
I think you are way off, regarding art. Even the way backward German Kulturrat (Council of Culture) has accepted games as a form of art years ago.

And I think homosexuals probably find you revolting too...

TStael: Simple, is it not? Or you still have difficulty with the two lines above? ;-)

real.geizterfahr: The only difficulty I have is to find the topic we two are discussing about oO Seriously... I say "Cherries are delicious" and you answer "But CERN's LHC could create a black hole!". I tell you that I was talking about cherries and not about science and you give me an even longer post about black holes. Le fuq?
If you feel unable to put forth an actual opinion - I have no issue with that.

Yet there just are gamers who love gaming; and would like all others to get the same - is it that hard to believe?

I have "soft / hard" values - and thence let me state that no gamer I love for their character thinks they are better than another fellow being; or a gamer.

CERN won't create a black hole with the LHC. I think it's extremely arrogant of you to believe that humans have the power to play God and to create such a force of nature. We are just tiny humans. We can't create black holes - not even by accident!

You're wrong. The LHC isn't dangerous. And I still don't get how this is releated to cherries O.O

Seriously, TSteal... I don't want to offend you or anything, but... Do you even understand English? I only tried to tell you that "cum" means "sperm" and not whatever you thought that it means. And you? You start telling me that I'm probably in denial of my gay fantasies and that I'm against LGBT stuff in gaming??? Brain fart? Or are you by any chance dyslexic? A spell checker can fix spelling errors but it can't fix weird sentences and it can't help you to understand what others write...

You're weird. Kind of entertaining for five minutes, but really, really, really weird :/
I don't know why but having a lot of trouble replying here... ok messed up html... got it...

It's not cum as slang... I think it's cum as in magna cum laude... ergo from latin and similar to saying: con algo, with something.

You're cool in my book ;) I actually have family you kind of remind me of.

Believe it or not I find your communication idiosyncracies charming and frustrating in equal measure. Someday I might even understand if it's natural or conscious - I'm sooooo curious if you speak like you write... :)

And of course I'm grinning again now.

Because I think I'm zeroing in soooo rightly - you most certainly have unusual modes of expressing yourself BUT I sure as heck don't hate you, or them - so your implication on my motives is just mistaken, which is both tragic and comic...

At a meta level (cultural diversity) this is so apropos. Please don't be suspicious that others are curious about you. I don't think anyone around here actually, you know, hates you.

Some people clearly distrust you (not me), some people seem to slightly dislike you (again not me), and I expect quite a number of people are befuddled/dazzled by you (me also, on occasion) - but these latest usually don't tell you that, because why would they? They don't get into difficult conversations with you and normally people don't tell others that they find them "weird", as our colleague just did.

Respect

I do not claim to be serious but rather passionate: what is there not to love about Merriam-Webster??

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cum

—used in hyphenated phrases to link nouns that describe a person or thing with two jobs, uses, etc.

I just slightly kindly say - traditionalist male u, plausibly. But why is it even important?

As to me - I am chillax - yet my opinions are those of a woman gamer, and I want them to be understood as such. I would not bother if it did not matter; a bit. But it does. And I am also bluaady well bothered if supposedly our well loved hobby is but for the hetero normative white male.

It is for all of us.

Is really wish you could see it so, too.

It is about love of gaming; and joy of immersion.

I imagine gaming inclusive, deep and rather fun n cool. This is how I live it; and rather love it.

Easy to say flippantly - but has there ever been a game you wanted to make? And did?

I agree with Firebrand9's sentiment but how this, if there is an aspect to a game you don't like consider modding it.

Very ironic reply as it's equally easy to disregard flippantly. And you insult the capabilities of everyone at the same time by implication. Very nice work. Being contrary is not a good form of argumentation.

The answer to your question is yes and yes.

Don't be so quick to assume bilaterally in the future, both about the person you're replying to and the group you're damning in the process.

If moddings take too much effort, how about buying games listed here?

Arguing about things you can affect and change indeed matters, arguing about things you can't change doesn't matter. When the issues only exist in the heads of the people arguing, and not in the real world, its a fundamental waste of time.

When gamers look at other gamers they can see what they want to see.

If you want to see the gaming world as bro-centric you can find evidence for that.
If you want to see the gaming world as over-run by hipsters you can find evidence for that.
If you want to see the gaming world as attacked by feminists you can find evidence for that.
If you want to see the gaming world as accepting of everyone you can find evidence for that.

Whatever agenda or f-ed up paranoia and prejudice you have, you can find evidence for it you look in the right place.
