Jesus christ that is awful.

In a gamespot documentary, the lead guy said the team itself was formed in 2014. That means they made the game in little over two years. Not very much time.
I don't know ... I don't spend that much time looking at the skies in my action games.
If this was a flight sim I'd be concerned, but not in an action game.
I think if you look at any game with the same scrutiny as this you'd find similar levels of flaws.
Kind of a bummer, Mafia II was epic awesome from the time I spent in it. This game looks pale in comparison, although the in-engine cut scenes and mo-cap are rather epic. Hopefully they at least fix all the terrible bugs and crappy AI though. That could turn it around somewhat. They also have to deal with the lame 720p upscaled graphics and capped framerate though, that's just pure epic ripoff.

Bugs are expected in modern big complex games, but the ones showing in numerous youtube videos now scream of alpha-code release of an unfinished game to me. I really do hope that they fix it up though and come clean. They'll take a hit on the current quality, but could pick it up later. Other games have came out of the gate like that before and cleaned up via updates and went on to have high ratings.

I look forward to Angry Joe's final verdict though, and also Ben Croshaw.
Mafia 1 was one of my favourite games of all time, mostly because of its plot, atmosphere, characters and music.
Mafia 2 was decent but I didn't really think it was outstanding like Mafia 1, just borderline average.
Good thing I didn't buy Mafia 3 yet, seeing this thread reinforces my decision. Will get on a good sale.

And vehicles, the vehicles were awesome and all handled differently.

Plus you could have insane chases.
Does any of the Mafia titles has character creation like in Saints Row 2/3 or is it "that guy" like in GTA?

Ok; thanks :)
They're very story-centric (while Saint Row games are more based on free roaming and doing weird stuff), so the character is fixed as part of the story (an italian taxi driver turned mobster in the first game, for example)

skeletonbow: Wow, that looks more like a sequel to the Driver series.
Haha, that's a polite way of saying that the game is a piece of shit! xD
