Not sure how useful this advice is, but I've seen a lot of friends try to quit tobacco over the years. What it seems to me is those who actually quit smoking/chewing for good are those who really want to.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but from what I see you saying in this thread, you don't seem to "really" want to quit. You want to because you think you should, but...
When deep in your heart, you want to quit, you will. Not saying you shouldn't "try" because by trying to quit hopefully you will start to learn you don't really need it as much as you think. Someday, you will hopefully realize you don't need it at all. But it may take some time and a few failed attempts.
