neumi5694: I don't think it's a demo, but just half a game with an open ending, continued in part 2 / chapter 5.
Lexor: Yes, that's possible, but "being in development for over three years" makes me thinking that it can be also just like "Eye of the Beholder 1" in Eye of the Beholder trilogy - why would someone work for three years on something which is only "an introduction"? Even with open ending it would not mean it is not a complete game itself.
I think we need somebody to play this game to get the real judgement. :D
I found the itch store page for this game, which has is development log. It looks like the game is his side project as the developer is an illustrator and animator. Some of his past credits include the title drawing sequence for The Grand Budapest Hotel and graphic design work for the tv series American Horror Story. I'm going to assume this developer isn't some rich guy with no day job such that South Scrimshaw is his side project while he does other work to pay the bills.
I think that this game is going to be not much different than some of the Neverwinter Nights modules that I have played that are released in part as chapters. Some of the better ones took years to complete and were released in parts which each module being it's own chapter.
Anyway my cursed weekend extended to the point of loosing my save file for what I was playing such that I had to start over completely. After that, I'll give South Scrimshaw a try and report back. :)
