When I started posting on the Elminage Gothic subforum, I actually did get into some interesting discussions about the game mechanics.

Unfortunately, most of the time there was only one other person involved in the conversation.

Sorry, haven't read most of the thread, but I'll respond to something anyway. I think that there are other reasons to worry than this particular example. The only reason a 7 year old girl will be adversely affected is if she was indoctrinated that seeing a naked male or being seen by one is damaging. This has nothing to do with the situation itself, rather with general hysteria, and in this instance I'd say that the problem is with the society's treatment of nudity.

Now, letting men into a girls toilet does raise the chance of a paedophile making its way there, and that's a real issue that should be considered, but it's distinctly different.

The game subforums unfortunately tend to have very little activity, at least for the games that I own.

What about for download-only titles?

By the way, a couple recommendations from this site with "gay content" that you might want to look into:

Stardew Valley (haven't played it (don't even own it), but I saw a screenshot showing a same sex marriage, complete with the "I pronounce you man and wife" line, or rather what they did to it.)

Undertale: Main character's gender is non-binary (I think this is a clever choice, so that players can imagine the main character's gender to be what they choose), there's a lesbian couple among the major characters, and there's at least one minor gay couple.

Why not try to generate some activity in those sub-forums?

Yeah, not a bad idea. I tend to monitor several, but I think I'll try to post more in those that I'm playing at the moment. I'm planning to start with JA2 again one of these days, with 1.13 and the Arulco revisited mod. Perhaps I'll create a thread for that where I can post impressions and ask questions.

I understand your point of view, but I respectfully disagree on both the issue being distinctly different & that the only way for a child to be affected is if she was conditioned to be so.

The times I took my nieces to the public playgrounds afforded me several opportunities to observe small children playing naturally without adult meddling, as the Social Justice issues aren't present here YET, and I can tell you that there is an intrinsic knowledge that they are different, that is to say, girls behave, act & view themselves as different from the boys & vice versa.

In fact, the natural order of things, without white guilt interference, is that we are programmed to notice the differences from early on, even if we don't know why or how.

This leads me to conclude that what's currently happening in the United States is nothing short of psychological violence against children, because they are being FORCED by ADULTS to be equal, against their own natural instincts.

This, of course, leads to confusion in the children's mind, which are then brutally persuaded to allow themselves to be mutilated, just so the adults that should instead be protecting them can feel good about themselves.

The fact that there is a very tiny percentage of children who will eventually identify themselves as a different gender is no excuse for these vicious attacks on minds of the majority of children.

As noted a few post above, there's finally pro-gay groups coming forward with conclusive studies that this kind of brutality is wrong & should not be allowed to continue.
