Granted. A rogue meteor skips off of the moon -- sending it careering off into space -- before slamming into the earth in such a way that it almost totally negates the planet's rotation. Not only are the seasons as we know them destabilized, the Western hemisphere is plunged into more-or-less permanent night. On the plus side, sinus headaches (which you notice lessening as most of the plant life slowly dies off due to lower temps and lack of sunlight) are now the least of your worries, being that you'll probably die soon (along with many of the other people who survived the meteor impact) because of the plummeting temperatures caused by all the debris launched into the atmosphere when the meteor struck, as well as the destabilization of the planet's orbit around the sun and the departure of the moon and its gravitational influence.
(This is what happens when I don't corrupt any wishes for a long time: extreme overkill!)
