faroot: Knights of the Old Republic is legendary...
On the other hand, because it's old, it's only rated 87% on steam more recently. That's still good, but its 2003 graphics do suffer by comparison to modern games. Gog users are more forgiving to old games; it's 5/5 here.
I think it's vastly overrated, and lowering score isn't due to graphics. It's the dull, repetitive, simplified combat mechanics, boring progression of items, absolutely shit errand quests (that are basically mandatory busywork for getting on with the main plot, but not at all in any way related to the main plot) with voice acting and storytelling that makes 13yo kids' backyard live action roleplay look almost decent. Very shallow & cartoonish (even for SW universe) representation of many characters, especially most baddies.
Seriously, the very first guard in the hallway when you step out of your apartment on the first planet is good foreshadowing of what is to come. It's so comical it's not even funny, and yet they manage to outdo that when you come across the group of drunkards/muggers/whatever that are looking to pick a fight or get something out of your wallet. That's when I thought I'd seen the worst of it, but the weirdo tribe looking for a way to the the Promised Land by notebook pages scattered in fucking sewers is so much worse. It's arrrgh, no, I can't take this seriously, and there's just more and more of that as you go on. Sorry, yeah, those are definitely worse than any LARP a group of 13-yo kids in their backyard could come up with :P
I don't see this game holding a candle to the original Star Wars trilogy in any manner. At best, it's a diversion for desperate kids who happen to be Star Wars fans.
