Hi everyone!
First time posting here, so I hope this question isn't too dumb, but TL;DR version: I've been wondering if anyone could maybe recommend me some fun, single-player RPGs that would let the player be a knight or something close to/like it? Doesn't have to be a recent title or anything.
An unnecessarily long explanation:
I'm not really a gamer and I've only played a few RPGs to date, but it seems to me that while most of them let me pick a knight class or something equivalent to it in the beginning, later on that choice doesn't make any significant difference story-wise, or often even gameplay-wise. So I wonder, do you guys know any story-driven RPGs in which your character would really be a knight, rather than simply a „chosen one“ with a knight background? Doesn't matter how it's approached, whether it's serious or parodic, whether the game tries for a realistic depiction, or the knights are more of the fantasy variant, whether your character serves someone or they're some sort of a lord themselves, or maybe if you just play some wandering spirit roaming the countryside... I don't have anything super specific in mind, but playing a story-driven, dialogue heavy game, in which roleplaying some sort of a knight person would feel meaningful would be a dream. I'd really like to play an RPG where being/feeling like a knight would be an actual part of the experience, if that makes any sense. The game doesn't have to be crazy about it, but if the NPCs at least noticed that's what you were, I'd be delighted.
If you've played a game like that that you enjoyed, feel free to share. :) I know there are probably lots of them but as I said, I'm terribly ignorant when it comes to games, so even the most obvious titles will probably be new to me. :D
Anyways, thank you very much for reading. Happy New Year and have a good one!
