Hey guys,

I am having troubles with buying a gift to my friend in order to multiplay.
I contacted support but it is more than a week that I have not even got an answer!

Funny thing is, when you go submit a problem and ask for help, it says that the average waiting for answer is typically within 24 hours.

Is this a common problem with the support?
Am I going to get any answer at all?? Should I give up and just forget about multiplaying?

There may be a pandemic going on, or so I've heard. People are being asked to stay home if their job is non-essential. I can't think of anything less essential than online support for a game store. Maybe I lack imagination, but this seems close to correct.

These companies like gog have the easiest way atm , they can still operate remotely and their customers probably buying more games now.

I'm also waiting some time for replies for my tickets (one submitted in saturday, second in tuesday), it's now all delayed due to big amount of inquiries.

True they do have remote access but they are still dealing with a huge amount of customers. Their PR guy said it themselves in another thread that was posted. Also remote access can be limited though in some cases.

They should hire more people , I bet there are plenty who lost their jobs.
On top of the pandemic, there is a major sale going on at the site, which always causes a spike in support tickets.

Based on your registration date, I'm guessing you can't gift a game because of a restriction on new accounts. From GOG Support Center: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/212159529-I-cannot-buy-a-game-as-a-gift-why-?product=gog

I've been trying to get a refund since Sunday for this exact reason. Meant to buy a gay as a gift accidentally bought the wrong version. But was told they'd credit my account the amount the game was (On sale, but its no longer on sale) So now i'm SOL.

What game is it? You can use the same offline installation until the ticket is resolved. Further, some games dosn't require a serial/account, and you can mostly find a serial to some by searching...

Yep, there are some delays. Am sure they are very busy (amongst having other things to worry about). Just have some patience, I also have a refund ticket for a few days now, and sure they will get round to it.
