mrkgnao: It really depends on how you look at it. This change could encourage people not to download their entire library, but rather to become dependent on installing games via Galaxy. The more unmanageable the library becomes, the more averse people would be to manage it themselves.

And obviously we all want people to become dependent on a client, judging from competitive analysis.
That's a nasty, cynical, and consumer-unfriendly notion you have there. And thus is makes perfect business sense.

yyahoo: Why the objection exactly? Each Heroes Chronicle was released as a separate retail item at B&M stores... Or at least, most of them were. I think two were DLCs, so to speak.
Because they seem like they should be a single final entity, similar to how Siege Of Avalon ended up in its final boxed incarnation. But also because the split version is hella bigger than the unified one.

Just logged in again and mine still aren't unbundled. Is it just taking time to get to everyone's collection or am I doing something wrong? I do have quite a few of my games hidden.

I have been having a nasty feeling that despite its many advantages (DRM-free, bonus goods, excellent customer service, great community), GOG has taken just a step or two too far into the business sense area of the market.

I admit, it is a subjective feeling left over from the early post-beta times, but now things seem to be a bit more grey than in the past (no website pun intended). Instead of the friendly neighbourhood store store, it has become more of an official enterprise, with a reception desk in a large lobby as the gate-keeper.

Or it could be that without TET they have not had anyone charismatic to explain what has been going on and serve as a pressure valve for the community while GOG corporate presses on with the changes. Whatever the case, some of the charm has been lost and the blunders during the past year have not made things any more light-hearted.

The last time I did that I couldn't get back into the gog site at all, had to clear my browser out a few times to get back in.

I certainly prefer the full installation, but as far as choosing games that should be unbundled, I can understand why this was chosen.

I am also now seeing some reasoning as to why the unbundling occurred, having just discovered that I owned Planetfall but didn't know it because it was bundled together with the Zork games. I wonder how many other games there are that I didn't realize were there...

Just wait it out. It's gonna happen sooner or later.

I got to re-sort my library since I got ~50 new entries today, thanks to the unbundling. Yay. >_>
Now that's odd - on my alphabetised shelf, the cover for Ultima Underworld II comes before Ultima Underworld I. And when I expand either of them, they are both Ultima Underworld I. Same name, same files, everything.

Guess the mechanics are still tinkering with the wiring.

Up 110, eh? Have you hit 4 digits?

IAmSinistar: Then can you fix some of the titles so that they alphabetise better? We've always had the problem of The Black Mirror ended up under T while Black Mirror 2 appears under B. Now we have The Blackwell Legacy under T, away from the other Blackwell games under B.

Please update "The X" titles to "X, The" format. That would make alphabetical sorting much smarter.
The nerve...

IAmSinistar: Well, it does make it look like they have more Classic releases. ~_~

That's exactly how I look at it. Is it supposed to make me feel good?

Also, have a +1.

mrkgnao: [...]

Gladly. Because it has nothing to do with file size. It's real purpose is (take your pick):
1) Better hide the missing Fallout
2) More opportunities for product_bonus_xxxxx bonuses
3) For Galaxy
Do I have to pick only one? There seems to be a strong connection among them.

This is turning into a real nightmare for us. I refuse to refresh my account, but the train has already left the station, old installers just give an "can't fetch data" error.
As for organising one's shelf, I've given up on that, as I had to do that already twice and GOG still came back and messed it up, without being able to explain why or how when I asked.

Nope, just over 900... Getting close. It feels just like yesterday that I was almost getting ready to break 800... Oh right, it *was* yesterday!

for me its showing me less then it was when they were bundled, example Battle Isle the bundle has 5 games the seperated ones show me 3, I realize they might not be done but, this is a trend I don't care for much

Hint: The fourth is under H, The fifth under I.
