Point taken, but it's just really annoying that when people now use the word "troll" the first thing which springs to mind is a cretinous little keyboard warrior rather than a mythical creature made of stone. It just pisses me off that this is what has happened to the word "troll" in such a short space of time.

"Offended"... makes me question whoever adult feels the need of throwing a tantrum like a bratty 8yo and crying "I'm offended" and goes on a butthurt rampage over random nonsense.

Regardless of the etymological origin of the word "troll", used to refer to the type of twat who goes on to the internet just to cause trouble - and I agree that it very probably has mucn more to do with the verb which has to do with fishing - it is still a huge shame that the leading meaning of this word, "troll", has come in people's minds to refer to a TWAT who makes comments on the internet purely in order to cause offence. I suppose I really ought to have mentioned fishing and fishermen too, amd I apologise to them for not having done so.
