GOG, have you gone bonkers? These games are (on average) more than 15 years old.

Not to mention, there exist free open-source and, dare I say, superior alternatives. Like say Xonotic.

I can't imagine paying these prices out of pure nostalgia.
You can't put an age on quality.

Colonial Marines is only a couple of years old and IMO they should pay us to play that piece of shit.

This.

Also, you're a liar. Quake 2, Quake 3 and the Wolfenstein games aren't even on GOG...

Some got money actually: "The suit, filed in April 2013 by Roger Damion Perrine and John Locke on behalf of a class, claimed that Gearbox and Sega falsely advertised Aliens: Colonial Marines by showing demos at trade shows like PAX and E3 that were not ultimately accurate representations of the final product. Sega has suggested settling the lawsuit from their part and agreed to pay 1.25 million dollars."

Some of them are.

And before it gets hostile I do want to say I dog the OPs avatar and anyone who appreciates a game that bizarre! :D

GOG doesn't decide the prices, the publisher does .
I happily pay for these games since I freaking love them and besides,as Licurg pointed out,it's the publisher who decides the price.

I wasn't being serious. That was a reference to the regionlocking of those four games for Germans.

Bethesda makes those prices not GOG, in the case of Quake 1 and 2 you should feel lucky, if you buy them with their expansions they'd cost you double on Steam.

I think the situation is this, Bethesda knows these are still highly sought after games and so profits from the situation, It's kinda ironic since Skyrim has definitely cost much more to produce yet the base game sells for 15e.

Oh. :P It's late, I'm brain dead. XD

GOG does probably negotiate quite a bit with the publishers to determine the prices. I remember some talk about indie games being rejected by GOG because they couldn't reach an agreement in that area.

That said, the id games largely seem to have the same prices here as they do on Steam.

Aside Wolfenstein 3D, Quake 3 and maybe Quake 1+2, the prices look fine to me.

Then don't, and buy them during the current sale at -50%.

Also, certainly read what Ganni1987 said. These are basically the same prices as on Steam.

Still? Fucking hell...

Because obviously anyone who plays a game about shooting nazis will become one themselves.
