Redfern: Just for info - got Eldritch Steam key, open for trade or something.
I'd be interested but all I have currently is a Dungeon Keeper Gold GOG key from a while back.

Theta_Sigma: I did a search and I didn't find this topic so I figured I'd make it. I love Lovecraft/Lovecraftian horror very much and I was curious if anyone could suggest horror games in that style. So far I can only think of the following:

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
Call of Cthulhu: Shadow of the Comet
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
The Worry of Newport
Magicka: The Stars are Left
Alone in the Dark
Slender (I realize this is based off Slenderman Mythos but even that has Lovecraft feel)
Silent Hill (1-4 mostly)

I know there has to be more than that out there, and I would love to hear about any gems I overlooked. Age doesn't matter (new or old is just as fine to me), I just am in a mood to play more in the same grain.
A suggestion if you haven't had the "pleasure" - Avoid Dark Corners of the Earth. That game does sanity damage to the player, not the character, and not in anything approaching a good way.

Actually, I beat it a while back. I didn't find it all that bad but most of the glitches didn't seem to hit me strangely enough. There were some things I wasn't keen on (such as they should have stuck to one game play mechanic) but for the most part the story was rather good. That being said, I can understand fully why it isn't everyone's particular cup of tea. Thank you for the warning none the less though. :)

Not a problem. If anything, I'd prefer to hear someone managed to have fun with it as opposed to a bug-riddled nightmare.

Also, there's a game called Call of Cthulhu - The Wasted Lands that came out a while back. Turn-based type of thing, seemed interesting at a glance.

Oh The Wasted Lands is quiet good actually. I managed to get it on the Android store at one point and I rather enjoyed what I have played of it. Another great Cthulhu mythos game I'd love to see in video game format (or digital board game) is Arkham Horror. I love that board game and it would make for a fun title to have for on the go or on PC.

Would be pretty good if a video game adaptation of the Cthulhutech pen and paper game came out. Odds of that are pretty much nonexistent, though.

Yeah sadly so, there are so many P&P games that would lend for great video games, and it would be awesome to see more Lovecraft (or Lovecraft inspired) games.
It's been mentioned a couple times already but I'll throw in another vote for Prisoner of Ice because even though it's not a must have classic it's still a really decent adventure with all logical puzzles, some are time based and you'll die quite frequently but it's never all too aggravating.
It doesn't compare to Fate of Atlantis but I enjoyed it more than The Dig and even Shadow of the Comet, even though Shadow of the Comet is almost universally regarded as the better game.
I would rate Prisoner of Ice at least 3.5 Stars (personally 4) and clearly recommend it to anyone with a passion for point & click and Lovecraftian stuff.
especially lovecraftian time travelling future world laser gunfights
+1 for Shadow of The Comet and Prisoner of Ice. Dark Corners of The Earth was also quite good, though besides that there hasn't been much love for Lovecraft as far as video games are concerned. One of my favorites at the moment is Elder Sign: Omens for Android.

We did have a chance to read through the design documents, and concept art for Guillermo del Toro's INSANE, and that game had a metric ton of potential...

Maybe one day we'll finally get to see it!
Alone in the Dark 1-3

Because the controls are just as convoluted and awkward as Lovecraft's bloated prose.

I also have to state that I had tremendous fun aka Horror with Dark Corners. Yes, it has some flaws in design and mechanic and is much too trigger happy later in the game but the overall experience I found really amazing with lots of things done right.

Cthulhu Wasted land is also a very nice little TB-RPG. I think the iPad version is better than the PC version for the controls but that is down to taste. Some one pointed out that the maps are rather small for strategic manoeuvering and you only left with tactical descision.
While I won't object to those facts, it did not keep me from having a lot of fun with it, since I really dig the vibe, though the actual setting and inclusion of Zombies is a bit far fetched as far as HPL referencing is concerned.

I just finished my first-ever playthrough of "Prisoner of Ice". It was a decent point-and-click adventure, but also a pretty easy one - the number of item/hotspot combinations is usually pretty limited, so the only times I got stuck were when I'd missed some tiny object during the usual pixel-hunting. The plot was passable, but played out more as sci-fi than horror - you only encounter one type of monster, and it isn't particularly terrifying. Some of the later cutscenes have some nice creepy art, though.

Overall, I don't have much to say about this one - I'd say that "Shadow of the Comet" was the stronger of the two Infogrames Cthulhu games, but Cthulhu completists who feel compelled to check this one out could certainly do worse.
They Bleed Pixels is inspired and influenced by H.P. Lovecraft. It's a difficult puzzle platformer with action elements, and it is really fun when it isn't being frustrating.
the Lovecraft eZine just publushed a pretty nice list of HPL inspired games:
http://lovecraftzine.com/lovecraftian-video-games/

ALSO:
H. P. Lovecraft’s The Case of Charles Dexter Ward

Agustín Cordes (Scratches/ Asylum) has an new KS project:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/agustincordes/h-p-lovecrafts-the-case-of-charles-dexter-ward
29 days to go.

So may maggots feast on literal body of HPL these days and so very few manage to 'ingest the spirit'
Cordes is one of those few.
