Arghmage: There is a new Star Wars movie? I don't think so. There are only three movies. Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. There was an additional short movie that ended with Jar Jar Binks appearing, but no one is seeing that.
So let them try to make new movies. I'm not watching something like that. Too bad that they never made more than three movies, but that is just the way it is.
Errrmmmmmm, did you forget about the prequel trilogy?
nightcraw1er.488: Apparently you can milk a zombie cow as well then: COD, FIFA, Pro Evo, GT, etc.
Well, Activision is still milking COD sure, but Guitar Hero got milked dry. I'm sure they had another series they milked dry but I forgot what it was.
doccarnby: I wouldn't be surprised, but the first of the spin-off movies is Rogue One, which from what they've shown off so far seems awfully low on Jedi. Maybe they'll pull one or two out of their ass and it will be disappointing, but I figure we'll get some decent non-Jedi focused movies inbetween the kick-ass lighsaber shit (I'm actually kinda with you, I really like Dark Forces but I'm not as into Jedi Academy even though it's also pretty good).
I'm more worried about the consumers. When 1313 was in the works, there were a lot of comments along the lines of. "Awesome, another Star Wars game but it would be better if there was Jedi in it". If this happens, well, You can bet Disney will keep it in mind.
Edit: Remember Star Wars: Galaxies? It was set in a time period when the Jedi were all but extinct. But that didn't stop players whining they couldn't play as Jedi. Subscribers then bitches to Lucasarts about the lack of Jedi and threatened to cancel their subscription if the game wasn't going to have them. So Lucasarts added them........and the rest is history. In the end. it was the demands of the community that destroyed Star Wars: Galaxies. The same thing could happen here.
mobutu: I mean, how many iterations of the same crap people are willing to take?
You know, I'm actually hoping we'll get an answer to that in our lifetimes
