Yeah that's nonsense. If you're within the requirements it's pretty much automatic. If you're outside of them, then yes you'll have to be a special case (ie: Have a good reason). At least you get to play your game for 2 hours to test it. On GOG after you've downloaded it you'll have to prove it's broken to get a refund or at least jump through a number of tech solving hoops before you'll get one.

Given how common it is to see someone whining on the Steam forums about the injustice of not getting a refund for their game when they were clearly well past the requirements for it I'm going to be skeptical of these friends requests.

Edit: Nevermind, pretty sure I've already made my argument in this thread before.

But at leasr in this domain they finally improved.
Well, hope you 'll never find yourself in their shoes then... as it's always easier to blame it on the small guys rather than the big one.

So far I've managed to boycott about 8000 Steam games. Unfortunately the other 2100 or so are bound to my account.

I don't boycott Steam, but I have re-bought a large portion of my Steam games here on GOG.

I've never had a Steam account nor have I ever considered redeeming any Steam keys that have been offered to me. I was looking forward to Sword Coast Legends, but stopped following it's development once I heard that it was going to be offered only on Steam. I won't be playing unless offered at GOG or DRM free at Humble Bundle. I have too many DRM free games that I actually own outright and can install & play without outside permission to waste consideration, time or money on games tied to a proprietary client.
