Hi,

Sorry, I'm new to GOG. I've just downloaded The Guild: Gold Edition and I can't work out how to actually play the game? I've tried everything but nothing seems to work.

Just a fyi, it;s a bad idea to say such statements on any support forum. 1) The folks answering have no idea what you have tried and 2) any answer we may give may have been one you;ve already tried and we would be just wasting our time.

How did you download the game? Galaxy? The old downloader? Direct file download?

If you have the installer file which would be with the last two methods of downloading it, did you try right clicking on it to run it?

If you have Galaxy, do you see it in it's menu?

Did you get some sort of error when you tries to install it? If so what was the error?

Afraid you don;t give us a whole lot to go on. A friendly reminder that only you can see what is occurring. All we can do is make guesses.

Although more seriously, i haven't played that game. You can't get the game to start? or you don't know what to do after you get in a game?

Well, you've got to install it...don't you have a setup file in your downloads folder?

Yes, sorry.I'm just very confused. I downloaded it from the gog website. Then it went to the gog.com/account thing where it said I'd purchased it and I couldn't work out how to play it from there. I tried downoading Galaxy but that didn't seem to do anything. I'm very untechnical when it comes to games. I used to play this game when I was young. I thought there would just be an install button and that would be it. Can't seem to see one though.

1) find your game (in the account/games tab). Click on it

2) the new portion after it's opened up, download the game (exe, and all parts, although some are a single download).

3) go to where you downloaded it. If you go to your download tag, try right-clicking and 'open location'.

4) run the exe, which will install the game

5) run the game...

You don't play games from your account, you just download the installation file(s). Check your "downloads" folder, there should be a setup file in it, double click on it to start the installation.
(don't know how it is with galaxy, don't use it myself)
