Everyone's talking about freedom of speech and choice etc. But no one is talking about whether the game (as a game) is (or will be) good or not, and then think about release...

Anyway, personally, this game is totally indifferent to me.

I understand your concern and I doubt it will be a masterpiece, but at least it's being used to expose hypocrisy and the call for censorship from a lot of shady people. Even if the game is not great in the end, it will have served a purpose, reminding that the specter of censorship looms over our hobby as much as ever.

Remember that GOG has it's standards and a game has to meet them to be released here. And fulfill many other criteria.

Of course. I might have to buy the game on their website, its presence here is far from guaranteed.
Hatred now has 2k votes on GoG. It was 1.5k about 2 hours ago.

And it was about 300 two days ago. O_O

It's great to see all that support.

And how many votes did it have on Steam Greenlight, again? ;)

fronzelneekburm: GOG, release this shitty game! For great justice!
avatar
F4LL0UT: You can't possibly know if it's shitty.
Sorry if my dismissive wording offended you. I'm very cynical in my assumptions about the gaming industry. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Even if it sucks, it should be released here, if only to make some point about free speech. And if the game is actually any good, well, then good for us! :)

By the way, I hope to bump into you again some day in AVP multiplayer! ;) That was a ton of fun!

monkeydelarge: They might pull out to avoid the wrath of SJWs but if they pull out, they will have to face the wrath of gamers who believe in free speech. So basically, no matter the choice they make, they will have to face the wrath of people they pissed off but that's life. You can't please everyone. So the best thing to do is to always choose the right path. And that is the path that supports free speech.
Well, exsqueeze me, but FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK the SJWs. Fuck'em sideways with a stick! There's no possible way to avoid the wrath of these fucks, they're upset about everything. There's no pleasing them. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. Fuck them! Who cares about what these assholes have to say?

Besides, who's going to buy the game? SJWs? I think not! So, how many customers will they loose over releasing this? Zero! So either these privileged Frisco trust fund baby coastal justice warrior pieces of shit put their money where their mouth is or they can go fuck right off!

It seems to lack any kind of humour or hyperboles so it might probably be just crap about violence for the sake of violence.

So? If there's one thing about this game I appreciate, it's the complete lack of wink-at-the-camera shit. Why is there this common consensous that all media violence has to be delivered in an oh-so-funneeh, watered-down, Tarantinoesque fashion? Why not show violence the way it is: gruesome and nasty. After all, it's just pixels. So what's the problem with violence for the sake of violence?

Waiting in line at the supermarket.

I'm not even joking, I thought that was subversive genius.

Violence shocks some people if you're not allowed to use a cat as a silencer or piss on the corpses of your victims.
