TheTome56: Straight up, no frills action movies can work well, and can be very entertaining even when they are ridiculously silly (like Crank or Shoot em Up)

However, those movies still require charismatic leading actors for the audience to get behind. Some might argue that action films need charismatic actors EVEN MORE then other genres to help compensate for the craziness going on onscreen.

The film style is novel, but I worry that by taking away the leading character and placing the audience in their place, they might lose that necessary role, thus leading to a decrease in quality that the first person aspect can't replace.

I think this type of first person film style would work much better in a mystery or thriller movie then an action one, but we will see.

Accatone: Both are good movies. If you remember Brainstorm, you should watch it again. It is directed by Douglas Trumbull, who has worked on such classics like 2001 and Blade Runner (he worked on their visual effects). He was also the visual effects consultant on Malick's Tree of Life.
