Whenever the hull is breached, he joyfully assists. Soft asian features, actually no longer sure it is a he.

A wild guess: Space Quest

No, it's not Space Quest. I think you probably don't know the game or you would very possibly recognize it by now.

The genre isn't clearly defined, it's a unique, clever mix that works very well. On official channels it's tags are RPG and strategy, but I would say, above all else, it's a rogue-lite with a twist.

To repair a hull breach, only one of so many before, en foreboding route to Mars, now so close, in plain sight already, yet so far still, rushes the technician Joy, last of crew, now hardly sane, no more assistance from no one, all alone, chewing last slice off the captain, but in his toolbox there are no tools, only the dice for one final throw.
