Hello Linko90, hope you have a nice time here!

I clearly stated that he is verbally abusive *while* he is complaining about being "abused", and this behavior is *not* limited to the past.

Yea, I know. What I said still stands. If two people are cursing each other out — they are both guilty.

After all, the forum rules don't say "insulting others is forbidden unless they started it."

It really doesn't. There was no cursing involved. I merely criticized the man for his blatant hypocrisy. If he honestly thinks that's abusive, he might benefit from a psyche evaluation.

Like I said, I wasn't present and don't know who you are talking about. Perhaps for the best.

All I'm saying is that rules should apply uniformly to everyone. That is literally the extent of my argument.

mike_cesara: So.. What happened with for those who like to discuss things that gog likes to delete thread? Was it deleted by G-Team or massively reported as spam? I would like to hear official clarification from The G-Team member, not from random users.
avatar
Linko90: The topic had seemingly run its course and was becoming a place where people were simply arguing within. As you can imagine, this isn't exactly relevant or good for the forums. With that in mind, it was deleted.
Better to lock threads than to delete them, unless the OP itself is at issue.

Linko90: That goes without saying. Any level of hatred aimed towards someone's sex and sexual orientation will be met with swift moderation. Hope that clears it up!

tinyE: Serious question that is going to sound like a bad troll/joke:

Can I yell at someone for being a Chicago Cubs fan? I mean, if I'm totally cool with them yelling back at me for being a Cardinals fan?
Why would they yell at you, when outright pity is the correct move?

That I agree with, and some of your other suggestions as well.

I'm sorry, I didn't catch that, I was too busy thinking about their ELEVEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! :P

You fail to acknowledge his plea to stop the abuse. It doesn't matter what you think about it, the plain fact was he considered it abuse, the reason why it affects him cannot be relevant when another person is clearly in distress.
Then again, the ones abusing never presented any other then misogyny, and self justification. How big of them.

Alaric, I respect your opinion but I cannot justify it. You cannot just abide by rules, you must have common sense and morality.
Even by your own terms, what isn't in the rules doesn't matter - news flash, rules matter but actions matter more.
Consider a poor man stealing a loaf of bread the same evil as a Billioner committing tax fraud? As long as both don't get caught...

Really speaking, you are referencing *subjective* abuse and treating it as though it is objective, hence my objections.
The real source of his "abuse" is his own psychological state of mind, which prevents him from avoiding conflict.

I am sorry we cannot agree, but I fully stand by my view. Laws are entirely meaningless if they are applied differently to different people. You should never suffer a harsher punishment than me just because I have more money, or belong to a certain social class, or have committed a heroic act in the past.

Privilege (literally means "private law") should not exist. One law should apply equally to all.

I do agree that a law can be poorly thought out or unjust. Such laws should, of course, be changed. I don't actually believe that people should be punished for wearing sandals with socks as I showed in my earlier example. =) That was a joke. So long as we have laws, though, them's the breaks.

And remember, we are talking about a forum here. With forum rules and forum punishments, the hardest possible being a ban. So if you are worried about punishing a hungry child thief, don't.

LOL - I'm in Brewers territory so one can't take seriously anything I say about it. : ) Though they're having a good start this season, without a loaded roster.
