GameRager: Yes not everyone has heard of JS, but everyone and their mum knows who Snookie is as she's parodied to hell and back. :)

Arteveld: Not here, not my generation. See, there's still hope for humanity. Cheers!:)

I guess, Wolfsschanze's closer though [and it's real]. ;)
City 17 is modeled after the Eastern European areas that use cyrillic, so it's a bit further east, and probably a bit south. So i'm definitely closer to the general area, than You, yeah.

steelblade5858: Yeah I still haven't gotten a code or a response from any of you guys in the PM's
I'll post here as well in case someone else comes across this thread: since GOG lives and works in Poland, we're on a very different time zone than you are. Your PM to me (and the message to which I'm replying) posted at around 10.30 PM local time; none of us here work that late unless something has gone horribly awry and the server gnomes are in full revolt.

Well, I do sometimes, but that's mostly because I'm an Internet junkie.
My main thing is un-consented VAT fees showing up on my bank statement. Just who is this PLIMUS INTERNATIONAL anyways. They are based out of Cyprus and according to my bank theris a ton of scams coming out of the area of the world right now.

GOG is incorporated in Cyprus for business reasons. Some banks have a problem with that.

Edit: As far as I know, all GOG prices include VAT, no matter where you happen to live in the world, so you might want to check up on those fees.

I don't think GOG has anything to do with Plimus... are you sure you haven't bought something somewhere else through Plimus?

AFAIK, Plimus is a shop provider like BMT Micro.

He seems to be talking about Plimus, who have nothing to do with GOG as far as I know.

I think one of two things has happened:
His bank has charged an international transaction fee, or he's been charged VAT on something from somewhere else and is getting mixed up.

I called the GOG Support number this morning. After cursing the automated support menu (I absolutely hate those damned things)

Press one for sales.... press two for technical support with your good old game... etc.

So, I'm jabbing furiously at the fucking zero button as I always do when confronted with these abominations of the telecom world and the damned thing is starting over. Repeating the menu options ffs. I'm saying over and over "I want to talk to a person... operator? operator?!" I finally figured out that I had to wait for the stupid voice to quit speaking and I hit zero at the precise moment and finally got a hold what I thought was an actual breathing person. I realized only after they said hello that when I said hello back they weren't listening to me because it was in fact a recording stating that:

"When you contact us, please be aware that we are based in Europe and our time zone may be different than yours. Please rest assured that we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible."

I nearly tied the fucking network cable around my neck and leapt out the nearest window. There was a beep at the end which I assumed meant that I should leave a message. So, I took a deep breath and did my best to maintain my composure as I stated clearly as I could my problem. I was contacted via email a short time later and my problem was resolved. They were actually very professional and helpful. Thank you GOG support.

Top notch.
Where did you get a number from? I didn't think they offered phone support.

Didn't the_bard mention that he is on some serious pneumonia medicine? So he got the number probably from Narnia.
you guys are very difficult to get answers from. i purchased several games from you and your downloader simply does NOT work. it just sits there. i have sent several e-mails and virtually all have gone unanswered. i would prefer to have the games rather than getting my money back, which is still an option. it has been several weeks since i made the purchase. please resolve this issue. thank you

You can download your games without a need for a downloader. Just turn off the GOG.com downloader mode.

When did you send your e-mails? How much did you wait between each e-mail? Sending another e-mail, while the previous one is still pending, will bump your ticket to the back of the queue. Also, GOG support doesn't work on weekends.
