sjleader: Their suggestions didn't work. So I deleted the game, and told them I did so. After 5 days (because they only send one email a day) of back and forth. I had to tell the guy 3 frikkin times I was on a MAC. He kept telling me to do windows stuff. I kept saying, "I am on a mac, clearly you aren't reading my emails." At which point I said to just issue the refund and lets move on.

This is purely about principal. If they responded to email quickly and we could have worked it out, great. BUt the fact that each email was from a different person who clearly didn't read the previous ones-- that frustrates me and shows they don't give a Sh&T about their customers. Proven by the fact that now they are simply ignoring my requests.

So, all I am left with is to give them negative reviews all over, post on their page, and basically annoy the crap out of them until they comply with their own policies.

If my rant causes even one person to chose not to buy from them, then I am successful.

Or GOG-- you can issue my refund and I will delete all this and move on.

hedwards: Interesting. Is the game supported on Mac? If so, then they really do need to get this right, it's ridiculous to be giving advice on fixes for a completely different OS.
Wow. Love how you instantly assume I said, "fuck you." To them. I did not...at first. The problem was one of graphics being garbled. So they asked me to change something thats a windows setting-- I explained I was on a mac. Wait a day. Another guy emails me telling me the same thing. At that point-- yes, clearly they weren't reading, I went on the forum and couldn't find the answer I needed to I politely pointed out their own policy--

"1. What is the Money Back Guarantee?
At GOG.com, we're confident in the quality of the games we sell and the work that we put into getting them ready for you to play them. If a game that you've bought on GOG.com doesn't work and our team of expert Support staff can't solve the problem for you, we will give you back your money."

So, their "experts" were not able to solve the problem. Why? Because they were too busy to read my email and understand I was on a mac and not pc. How many times do I have to say the same thing before I can say "fuck you?" 3 times. After the third time... now Im pissed and I want my damn refund.

tinyE: I want to see some of the "countless emails".

If they reply with something along the lines of "Try this..." and you replied with "Fuck you, I'm not going to try that. I want my money back!" then I'm afraid you have violated your end of the return policy at which point GOG doesn't owe you shit.

stg83: Maybe you should read the post above yours before assuming that the customer was raging and GOG support was faultless. Telling a Mac user to try Windows based solutions is ridiculous to say the least and is ofcourse going to be extremely annoying.
XD That post showed up while I was typing. My screw up. :P

No need to be an asshole here. You chose to leave out all the relevant details and I've since deleted that post when you added more information.

And considering that this is the first time I've seen anybody claim that GOG hasn't honored their policy, I'm going to be a bit skeptical when somebody posts an OP like this without any details.

You still have not told us what game is it. That little detail might help.

That would be too easy, now, wouldn't it.

Reminds me of the guy a while back who was raging much the same way, even after it was pointed out that the solution to his problem had been in the very first support answer and he just had never followed the instructions and remained completely unwilling to do so, instead insisting on being issued a refund...

AM I DOING IT RITE?
I'm always puzzled by these raging threads.

It's certainly bad if Gog support did the same mistake 3 times with different people and then stayed silent for 2 weeks, but.. I'm not sure that you can ask for a refund just because you got annoyed.

The Gog guys will probably find a solution, however; they're nice dudes, even if a bit goofy :P

P.S: harassing companies doesn't harm them much, but it could harm your case instead.

sjleader: Game didn't work. I deleted it. Asked for a refund, end of story.
That's not how the refund policy works. It goes:

1. Game doesn't work
2. Write to support
3. Support offer solutions
4. You try solutions, then either
5a. They work, everyone is happy!
5b. They don't work, GOG offers refund

It sounds from your post that when the game didn't work you just deleted it and wrote to support asking for a refund instead of asking for help with whatever technical issue you had.

Now I have had experience with GOG's support not reading my emails properly, so I know how frustrating that can be. But it still sounds as if you've misunderstood their refund policy.

LOL

You do realize that by telling someone you are a on a Mac, you are only telling someone the kind of hardware you are using? You are not telling that someone, the OS you are using. So the support guy probably assumed you were on a Mac and using WINDOWS! DUH! You should of been more clear with the support guy. If you were more clear and patient with support, I'm sure you would already have received a refund. But because you kept on telling the guy, you are on a Mac, then told the guy, you deleted the game and started raging, no refund for you. I suggest you email support again and try to work with them instead of acting like you are the king of the castle and GOG support are peasants who must bow down to you, right away. Because GOG support doesn't HAVE to give a fuck. Their policy says they do but it is not a law etched in stone.
