Continue down the path - if SPF is maf, at some point he gets counter-claimed (or countered by flip) and lynched. If he's town and I cop him, I'm dead the one night and him the next, so ...I didn't really buy town much in that case other than a little short-term clarity.

1) Yes, perhaps the player who said "Yeah, I'm not around much y'all probably should just lynch me" is the town cop. Seems likely.

How can I show you any of my breadcrumbs when no one has even asked for my full claim? It's no fun without that.

But seriously, it feels like you're stalling rather than moving on to the implications of what it means.

2) You can find that easily enough yourself. adalia says "Joe is just a more talkative flub!" and I say "that's bullfrak! he says plenty of stuff! adalia is wolfysomethingsomething!" and I forget where it goes from there. But later when I pause I think, hmm...maybe adalia had a point and that was just me tunneling him.

3) Not sure how to read your townparanoia/scumshade here. But seriously, I only postulated no cop to add wifom to the wifom on whether I was cop or not. Surely you aren't thinking there's really a backup cop with no cop here?

Pretty much, yes. The argument (from Trent, but also Vitek) has been that everything wolfy has just been inexperience, and that his observation on the sign up thread makes him lock town.

If you'd been here D1 any number of people could have been lynched. After D1 there really just hasn't been appetite to revisit it.

I thought when I finally got to post that it would be more exciting, but it's kinda just sad now. Damnation is correct (as is the D2 flavor post) that the cop action is via Baltar's red/green machine.

Which raises lots of questions about whether a neutral is possible (probably not?), or a godfather is possible - maybe, could fake the lab sample, I guess, or whether the game can have any functional watcher/tracker mechanic - also definitely maybe.

Wait, we're going about this all wrong.

With clears of two living players and one mis-lynch left to spend, we can break the game open (despite ourselves) with any one more cop check - even a green one. Mafia cannot allow another cop check.

And we can virtually guarantee we get one...

That's why the brig mechanic is here... and although I think the chance of SPF being Town is slim to squat, this mechanic gives us a chance to test out multiple things... can still put SPF firmly in the scum locker while essentially giving us an extra day to hunt.

I should probably go for a bit, but I think the issue, even if your night plan works is bler+3 confirmed town is still subject to either a real GF or GF doubt, and in this equation I still doubt I live more than one night, if at all. SPF might really be the only protection. Or he might be scum. Mafia presumably either know or have a guess. Might also have a strongbad.

But even assuming your plan works, (no lynch) we're at 9 tomorrow. We've narrowed (probably, GF issue again) to hunting 2-3 scum in 5. Those are better odds, but not a lock. I die N4, and there are 3 "confirmed" town still standing in a field of 7. Still not quite certain.

If scum have a GF they can still gamble that I cop town or clear the GF, but even if they don't there's still a >50% chance I cop town that they could still spin. Maybe they hit another target and it happens to be who I cop. Maybe ele and/or Dangnation get mod-killed and the whole thing is moot, IDK.

If it works it improves the odds. But we could end up no lynching in any case, so I'm not opposed to doing no lynch (with brig!) in an organized fashion vs. a rushed lynch.

I should probably go RL for a bit. Will be back later. But realistically most of the crowd won't be back on til I'm off for the night. Not sure how much time I'll have in the morning.

I guess personally I'd like to see deadline extended to Friday since my calendar is free-ish Friday afternoon but currently not tomorrow, and we still have 2 players who I don't think have even been present since deadline was announced, but that's just my own feeling.

Would really like to see wyrm's POV of what this gamestate means, even if I understand he may still want to poke holes at actually believing it.

I would be very receptive to extending the deadline by up to 48 hours, especially due to the inactivity of two players.
